FC United thread

Presumably if the glazers leave, fcum supporters will return to supporting the rags leaving fcum with no fans and will therefore cease to exist. Or am I missing something?
I used to work with a few lads who used to follow FC utd, one of which was a founding member. I asked the same question back in 2005, when they formed, I found it strange then and still do now. If you support your club you should support them in bad times as well, they all hated the thought of the Glazers taking over but as i said City fans hated Swales but still supported the club, we didn't fuck off to watch Droylsden. To be fair to them they were good lads apart from who the supported.

Think there were also some "football romantics" who early on, attached themselves to this shower.
They naively thought that a "football Co-operative" would work, despite having some clever/shrewd/exploitative people at the top, leading this "crusade".
As we all (including Manchester City Council - so effectively, us Council Tax payers unfortunately) found out, the early success soon ran out of steam.
After initially buying the better players from other local clubs, they hit their limit.
When they weren't winning and gaining promotions, the support decreased.
This was not a problem to anyone, but the move to Moston was the killer.
This recent alliance with the 1958 halfwits will soon end up in tears, despite their protest getting publicity in today's Guardian ffs.
An absolute folly...

They looked at AFC Wimbledon who went from scratch to the football league in 9 years and thought “we can do that” and looked at how AFC Wimbledon had the moral support of practically every football fan in the land in the way their club was stolen from them and assumed that would be the case too.
Those running the club fancied themselves as managing a league club, and “taking on” the Football League, challenging them over kick off times, TV changes etc etc. They really believed their own hype and that they were going to be at the forefront of a football revolution. They had the sight of power in their eyes and were given the green light to carry on by the easily led disciples that followed the club.
They we’re quick to align themselves with the likes of AFC Wimbledon and St Pauli FC - a club where fans have a very large input into the running of the club and are seen as a radical thinking club. They did this to claim credibility by association, yet apart from the likes of David Conn and other sycophantic journos, they failed to match the level of credibility AFC Wimbledon had gained, with many fans of other clubs believing they should have stayed and fought the Glazer’s instead of turning their backs on the club.
20 years on the club are 3 leagues above where they started, heavily in debt, dwindling crowds - the romantics have long left in search of a fantasy elsewhere…..

To put the cherry on the top of the protest failure, the pisspoor attendance included a good travelling contingent of around 300 from Stockton & to top it all off somebody nicked one of the bedsheets

Not sure if this is last Saturday's match ?
But there's a banner again the back of the stand that says : "FCUM v Benfica".
Wtf is that about ?
They are very clever at milking the history of the Trafford Tramps, so they maybe have invited the Benfica fans' team over ?
If they have, get Bernardo involved as he is still a big fan of them...

So, the next time they unfurl this majestic banner it will just say "GLAZERS" - that's fine I'm ok with that

The opening game at Pallet Park was The Moston Rag Socks v Benfica - an obvious nod to the 68 Euro Final.
But whilst the pre game advertisement hailed the might of the opponents attracted to open the “iconic stadium”, the reality was Benfica’s equivalent of an EDS team turned up.
The banner must be from that game and still on display.

Can someone explain why this tin pot club has a banner saying saying Glazers Out. Isn’t that like Maine Rd or Cheadle Town having a ‘Sheikh Mansour out’ banner. Why don’t they just say who they really are, moronic cunts.

The two face c*nts will take the Glazers and United money quick enough? Asking to show the FA Cup final last year on a big screen for fans of United and Fcum only

Here’s the state of the debts as of November 2024. They owe the council at least £900,000. the original £500,000 was due to be repaid in full last year, but not only could they not pay the capital on that loan but they couldn’t pay the interest of the loan which kept building whilst they enjoyed a two year payment holiday.

Thanks to a bucket shake they eventually paid £30,000 back this financial yrar. From July onwards they are committed to paying back £78,000 in the year via monthly direct debits. Where that money is coming from is anyone’s guess as the latest figures showed them making a loss on this year.

The council have been very generous with our money, thanks to the sunken cost fallacy despite them not being able to make repayments on the original loan they lent them more money then payed all the legal fees for the latest refinancing deal & provide senior staff to sit on their board. How many other businesses or sports teams enjoy such support?

In addition they owe their own fans £1.87 million in community shares

You have to give the club some credit. They state they are a not for profit organisation and they are true to their word and stick to that year after year of never making a profit!
