FC United thread

In my view, the Council representatives on the Board have a fiduciary responsibility to the Council's taxpayers. Their role is not unlike that of directors appointed by a bank to a company Board when that company is on the edge of receivership.

Back in the day, I'd have suggested that a council taxpayer of Manchester CC should refer this matter to the Audit Commission. However, the Tories abolished the AC, and I haven't a scooby what private sector organisation is making a huge butty from public money by fulfilling the AC's old role. Maybe a Manchester resident should ask the Council.

Since the Audit Commission was abolished the auditing of local authorities has fallen into complete disarray.

They had an unexpected stroke of good fortune lately as they’ll be receiving an undisclosed % of an undisclosed transfer fee due to a sell on fee they negotiated the last time Reagan linney agitated to leave a club that didn’t want to see him (he did the same when he left them)

* Remember all this undisclosed information they refuse to tell their co owners the next time they’re championing their failing ownership model and how transparent they are

Well it’s been disclosed & it was quite the windfall, £35k of unexpected profit. That eats into a good chunk of the £63k that they were expecting to gain from next years academy.

Marcus is looking for a new club, a perfect fit…
They couldn't afford his wages.

The person who currently makes the sandwiches is on £75 per game. No way are they going to pay him more than that.

According to the local evening rag, 1 500 Bantams supporters made the trip to Pallet Park this afternoon.

Bradford won 1-0.
Amazing that the Splitters attracted a team of Bradford City's size to Pallet Park ?
Unfortunately, they still seem to attract positive publicity, despite being the biggest fraud in non-league football.
Why not play at Curzon, Hyde, Stalybridge etc. ?

It’s a mystery to me too.

So, these tickets for the Heaton Park gigs they’ve been given.

Does anyone really believe that it will be a fair & honest raffle?

Of course it won’t be!

Who knows a person not wanting publicity will win them, and, who knows the ‘winner’ might even sell them on for a huge profit.

Hopefully the profit they make might be donated back to the thieving fuckers to pay down the debt owed to the hard working council tax payers of North Manchester.

I wouldn’t hold your breath.

The board have released another monthly set of documents and they’re as ridiculous, pompous & inconsistent as usual.

For instance “protecting the traditional 3pm Saturday match day experience is a core principle for the club and we will not compromise on this for the sake of extra income”

Sounds grand doesn’t it, but then you remember that Exeter said that they’d come and play for free without sharing the gate but could the match kick off at 2 on a Saturday? The splitters instantly say yes, despite the clubs core principle & didn’t bother protecting the traditional 3pm Saturday “match day experience”

They went on to talk about the plight of Widnes who’ve had to drop out of their league & suggest that sustainability rules need to be brought into non league football.

They think sustainable well run clubs like themselves should be handed a competitive advantage. Overlooking that they’ve been handed a competitive advantage for the last twenty years when they haven’t been sustainable and without the charity/stupidity of Manchester council they’d have gone the same way as Widnes

Maybe there should be a rule that any club owing a vast sum to their local council with no credible plan to pay it back should be automatically relegated. Indeed, maybe it should be a winding-up matter, with the creditors getting any assets that are left. That would surely make it all much more sustainable.
