Funny that these charlatans can have debts of circa one million pounds outstanding to the MCC with no active debt repayment plan in place. Whereas if any of us didn't pay our council tax we'd be likely to be in front of a country court facing a judgment.

Privately, (they'd never admit it publicly) MCC will know that they have dropped a clanger lending this mob the money that they have. But, like the most other misappropriation of public funds there is no accountability for those responsible individuals who signed off on this vanity project and the debts will quietly be written off.

I know it's not under his direct control but I wonder why Burnham hasn't raised this issue? Without getting partisan we know why it will fall by the way side.

Been a bit busy this weekend and only now going through my non league round up of results checking.

1-1 away at top of the league team. Not bad. Leaves the Rag Socks 3rd but 2nd placed Hednesford were thrashed at lowly Hyde United!

Yes, Labour Cllr’s Paul Murphy and Rita Tavenor (whose husband was the Principal of North Manchester College) sold local Moston residents down the Dean Brook.
Only Cllr Henry Cooper came out of it with credit. He resigned as a Labour cllr over this issue and opposed what will become a white elephant
 
Finally heard back regarding my FOI request.

Council confirm there is a repayment plan in place but won’t confirm what it is, timeframe to repay or interest rate other than to say it’s an appropriate interest rate. Hiding behind confidentiality and how detailing the info might prejudice the commercial interests of the mini rags as well as that of the council.

They did say that they loaned the mini rags £500k in 2013, £250k in 2019 and £150k in 2023. Bizarrely they say outstanding loan amount is £900k. So either they haven’t repaid a penny and it’s interest free, they have repaid some but haven’t reduced the total amount loaned by a single penny or someone is lying about figures.
 
I heard a rumour that Oldham RLFC enquired about using Pallet Park to host their home match/es. There's been a big fall-out between Oldham Athletic and Oldham RLFC which has resulted in the Rugby starting the season away from Boundary Park at Bower Fold (Stalybridge) but a lot of their fans are unhappy...

I'm not sure if they asked before or after agreeing to play a few matches at BF (or even if there's any truth in it at all) but you'd imagine it would have been a bit of a lifeline for FCSCUM (and Manchester Council)

I really hope this happens, as this club is the home of the biggest bunch of charlatans in Non-League football.
Rugby League seems the ideal partner, but it will massively knacker the pitch, which will probably give the Splitters an advantage, once they get used to it.
But, despite throwing them a possible lifeline, these self-entitled twats will probably vote against it.
As long as they continue to owe Manchester City Council c.£1 million, they can continue to be an arrogant, self-indulgent vanity project.
MCC need to tell them that Oldham RLFC are going to share their ground, to help pay off their debt...

At the time of the approval to build Pallet Park, there was a restriction as to how many games the stadium could host per season / year.
Though there were other restrictions (in an attempt to appease the locals) placed that I know have been challenged over time and changed such as not playing at home the same time as City do, having volunteer traffic Marshalls and the number of advertising boards being placed around the pitch, so wouldn’t surprise me if the limit to the number of games has ended too.

The pitch is a shambles as it is and having RL played on it would make Derby’s Baseball Ground look like Wimbledon centre court
Isn’t RL played over the summer? If so, they’d never be able to work on the pitch / give it a break.

They owed £900K last time someone sent in an FOI a year ago and were meant o have paid (I think) £75K last July and something like £35K each season thereafter.

Match abandoned at the mini swamp again tonight, not a surprise to anyone that saw that area any winter before a football ground was built there. It was the sixth attempt at the game against Stockton. The pitch was a mud bath on Saturday, even a rugby league team would have turned their nose up at it yet they scheduled 3 games in 8 days at home.

Stand by for the missing matches buckets shaking along soon along with an inevitable new bucket shaking appeal for a new pitch

Maybe we should refrain from referring to the ground as Pallet Park and call it “The New Swamp”

I have had many a good game of football on that piece of land and know all about the mud and it was a swamp
Also, the Bicycle Speedway used to flood at the bottom st mary's road

Come straight on here to say I've just seen a tiktok from Saturday's match and the pitch was horrendous, waterlogged and a mud bath. How that game was ever played I'll never know.
