FC United thread

I hate this club more than the real rags. The are the epitome of the worst type of rag. Been to see them a few times when they played Trafford. Vermin.
 
could they become council run with the input and money the Manchester city council have put in and a name change to boot. football club of manchester sounds better and use the manchester coat of arms for the badge and have a blue and red kits. but being a fan run club is looking like the end for them i did say last season that salford city could jump up a league and merge with FCUM and have the backing from the class of 1992

but FCUM are only weeks away from a new season and still dont have a clue what's around the corner and need a cash flow to play the full season and keep the ground open and the club running. somebody needs to step in NOW and sort it out once and for all

Cant see a merger.Salford very much see themselves filling a gap in the Salford area and can see them moving over that way some day.Would love FCSCUM to go under but cant see it somehow,think its just wishful thinking.

I work in finance and have dealt with a number of football clubs over the years. From what I have picked up they are operating on a loss and already have a Bank overdraft. Football clubs below the PL only ever get Bank facilities if they have a wealthy owner who guarantees them - even then Banks prefer not to do it as the failure rate is so high. Given this is a fan owned club there will be no guarantee and as the ground was council funded there will be no security over that. This is all eductaed guess work but I would imagine that whoever provided that O/D wants to pull it.

Interesting stuff,hope youre right.I follow Darlington as well as City and they are scheduled to play at the Pallet Arena on Aug Bank Holiday so hoping they go tits up before that!

i think the bank overdraft is on the funding they will have coming in from grants and other stuff but the main body of money coming in is from the manchester city council and they have already have given them a loan they can not pay back and was spent on other things that was not what the loan was for and the board members that was hand picked by the fans have left the club in a very big hole

i for one don't really care what happens to them but the fans are a right bunch of thug's and walk around like they are untouchable and heard many a story from bury rochdale and other towns that they are like a bunch of fans from the 1970s and want a rumble with everybody
