This is true. Despite overturning the initial covenant on the land from open playing fields for everyone, to an enclosed stadium for a handful of blokes with a mid life crises, unbelievably the splitters had it in their constitution (or whatever it is called) that shoukd they club go belly up, the land can only be used for sporting purposes.
How they fuck they are able to dictate to local people what can happen to the land should they go bust is beyond me.
Just like the genuine rags, these pathetically sad cunts think they are in some way special, but how they could be allowed to stipulate future use is a further insult to common sense and a denial of general enjoyment to the whole community.

Rags and rag-lite hangers-on are the most detestable individuals imaginable.

To my knowledge they haven't made a profit in any season since they started - so where the fuck did that £100K profit forecast come from and how did the council fall for it?

As someone said a few pages back, that £500 profit was down to Bury loaning the stadium (biggest crowd of the season lol) and also screening the FA Cup final on at Pallet Park for rags to watch it.
The whole set up is a shambles

Here’s the latest financial info from them confirming the £500 profit being £104k worse than the £104.5k profit they budgeted for.

It also confirms they made a profit a couple of years ago, but only due to covid grants. They dropped a bollock on that as well. Didn’t understand furlough & claimed for a load of their staff who were still working in their food hub (a good idea, spoilt by chancers, poor admin, poor organisation & employing contractors who were their mates to run it for them) they had a friendly QC write a very lengthy report over how badly that went. Anyway long story short some people that shouldn’t have benefited more than others either through additional jobs for contracting mates, dodgy expense claims as they didn’t understand or have a system for it or just abuse of the furlough scheme which saw the club have to repay £24k to HMRC over 2 years.

Maybe because they play in red, have Ushited in their title and 'they can do what they want'. Cunts!

Kids go to this fucking shit hole wearing actual rag shirts, whilst their dads wear the shirt of the splinter club.

Fucking odd balls.

I know nothing about financial business loans but common sense says that you have to continue to repay part of the money whilst you renegotiate. You are saying the council have agreed to no payments at all for a 2 year period !
That ticks every box in the 'That's a fucking disgrace' category.
Further, anyone can 'project' a 100k profit, did the council not see any business plans to show how this would be achieved ? Whoever on the council that agreed those projections looks a right idiot now, 100k to £500, even the real rags couldn't do that.
Instead of being funded by MCC maybe they should have taken those figures on to Dragons Den.

They launched a five year business plan called the vision, it was an absolute pipe dream. It assumed & budgeted for promotion from their league at the end of the third year, which should have been the end of this season, they’ve delayed that one year yet they’re clearly a long way from that. They have constantly projected large profits & haven’t made any.

They said their academy partner was no good & they needed to take their academy/cashcow in-house so expanded their academy facilities at a budgeted cost of £50k (then overspent up to almost £70k) they then appointed their first team manager (a headteacher elsewhere) at great expense to the full time role of academy principal & projected 120 students. They were that confident of smashing that target that the principal and “education expert” said they needed to halt recruitment in august & hold out for a higher calibre player…they then panicked in September when they realised only 45% of the students they budgeted for turned up, the principal/first team manager jumped before he was pushed from the academy role.

Since then they made a big deal of launching a girls academy & were surprised when only 1 signed up. The vision is updated every year & approved by the members, it’s a work of fiction. The council should be more insistent & start by actually holding them to the demands they made nearly 3 years ago
@Mostonisblue cheers for the reply.
I am sure you have or will read today's news on the BBC about Manchester City Council. They fear they will have to make severe cuts to their budget as they are now using a reserve fund.
If only people would pay what they owe.
If only the council had been sensible before throwing tax payers money away, people wouldn't need to repay the money they owe....... because they wouldn't have got it in the first place.

And since when did the council become a fucking bank, loaning money?

Reading between the lines, it's obvious that someone at the council has been given a brown paper bag or two. It's the only logical reason why this loan would ever get given and then be allowed not to be paid back. It fuckin stinks like them rotting pallets.

I'm not sure. I think it's quite possibly enough that certain key figures on Manchester City Council gave enthusiastic backing to this clearly doomed ventures with a bunch of no-hope wannabe clowns, so would suffer severe political embarrassment if the venture fell apart. Whatever the reason, though, it's disgraceful in the current difficult economic climate that public money should be wasted in this way.

Hard to think of any suitable club, whether in football or another sport, who'd want a ground of that size in that location. Perhaps, if MCC were to see sense and repossess it, City could take a lease, paint it all blue and white, and run it as some sort of City in the Community hub? Probably pie in the sky, but surely better than letting these mugs limp pathetically on.
