FC United Thread

I wrote this on here nearly 10 years ago and I stick by it.

With follow up responses here and here

What they did, and how they were lauded for it by milquetoast middle class Guardianistas who classified them as the "real football" was a disgrace. I don't care if Osama Adolf bin Hitler the Impaler took over City, I'd never take my ball and go home, I'd fight for the club and community that I believe in. Those Newcastle fans who are against the Saudi ownership and have started a pressure group must be annoying as fuck to Newcastle fans but you can respect them - they have a belief system and they're going for it. These whinging pricks banging on about the Glazers (who coincidentally were fine in their eyes and not setting up "phoenix clubs" before it was clear they were going down the shitter btw) - go speak to a Reading fan or a Cardiff fan or a Bury fan or a myriad of other clubs up and down the league who would commit hari-kari to have the Glazers as owners. FC United are not just gloryhunting traitorous wankers, they're the worst type of gloryhunting traitorous wankers - completely self obsessed and oblivious to their massive privileges that other people just call "life".

Oh and never forget that this "club" was often touted as the "antidote" to City and Sheikh Mansour. How they were inevitably coming to the Premier League because they were a morally just club. And look at the trajectories of us both since then. We're Treble winning 4 in a row champions and they're getting twatted by Curzon Ashton at home then will be relegated this year to step 9 and their greatest achievement was almost not getting relegated from the 6th tier. And lets not even talk about the money they've been begging from councils for a decade despite being in one of the lowest funded social care systems in the country. Don't give starving kids money, we need it for our "morally just" team. Absolute wankers, not a single real fan in them all, if United started winning leagues and Champions Leagues again then their ground would be empty. You only need to see the United effect when their games are played at the same time as United are on TV.
Fuck me, I remember reading all that when you posted it, time is a ****.

But still, every word as accurate now as it was back then. Just with a bit more success for us :)

They're nearly as big a laughing stock as the bigger united.
That’s the funny thing. Rags thinking they’ve had enough of “Big Red” are unlikely to jump ship to Mini Me as they are a bigger car crash than what they’re watching at the swamp.
And splitters thinking they’ve had enough of filling buckets each week whilst watching dross on the park are faced with the reality that Zirkzee and co are equally as shite

They could always go to Salford City, Plymouth Argyle….. rugby league.

The splitters thought they’d start this team that would run up the leagues winning titles etc to keep up the only shining light they had in their lives , gone from 8000 crowds at the start to a paltry 1000 , absolutely fantastic punk football ha ha ha

The club is in its Sid 'n' Nancy phase and we all know how that ended.....

"The singing, including some golden oldies which date many fans as Stretford End and United Road veterans of the 1970s and 80s, have a joy, as well as defiance, about them. The banners – Making Friends Not Millionaires, said one; Pies not Prawns, said another – have a laugh, too. There is a tangible relish among FCUM fans about being free from the features of modern football which got them down, even as their own club was cleaning up."

Time for a 14 years on update please David.

To be fair they too were cleaning up.

Well, by cleaning up I mean stealing hundreds of thousands of council tax payers money.

Punk football eh?

As Ronnie Biggs so eloquently put it - No One Is Innocent.

He’s still working on his article exposing the dodgy dealings of the former board members. It’s only been around 6 years in the making so must be due out soon……
