FC United Thread

suffering off the pitch too. Their latest financial reports shows that in September they forecast a profit of £4.2k but they actually lost £18.9k in the month despite selling their best player to Macclesfield, donations being £3k more than budgeted for, their women’s team winning £3k which wasn’t budgeted for & they rented out the ground for the lantern festival.

For the first 3 months of the financial year they made a profit of £14.9k but expected to make a profit of £28.2k so the profit is around 50% less than expected, crucially though it’s on a massive downwards trend with key commercial staff having left, board reports saying they have very little business bookings lined up for the festive period & the women got knocked out of the cup so they can’t expect anymore unexpected windfalls there.

The muppets over on their forum hang on every word posted here. Perhaps they should stop worrying about what we’re saying, who I am & actually wake up & question their board & committee members, it’s a cult of personality & the lunatics are running their business to the ground, wouldn’t care if it wasn’t for so much tax payers money going down the pan with them
It’s criminal that they have been allowed to steal this money and not a single eyebrow has been raised. Let alone questions being asked.
The whole organisation should now be run by volunteers alone.
They are a non league rag tag shite football team with way above their achievements facilities.

Facilities that they didn’t have to work for in the first place. Nobody should be taking a wage it’s a disgrace, delusions of grandeur on an epic scale
The mother ( fuckers) ship never did answer the 99 questions did they?
Just the one question for these thieving bastards - where’s the fucking money gone!?

The People of Moston didn't want them in the first place, Also Moston juniors were robbed of their funding

Why are people not asking Manchester City Council what the hell is going on, housing tenants would be kicked out of their homes for rent arrears by MCC, This lot owes MCC a hell of a lot of money with no chance of getting it back

Repossess the ground and land and sell it, or turn it back into green fields

The way that everyone who needed some kind of council funding of one way or another in that area and was overlooked to allow this self indulgent monstrosity to evolve needs to be questioned at the highest level.
How many deserving causes missed out because of these thieving bastards doesn’t bear thinking about.

It’s not only about how many local causes missed out, but also how many lost funding they were previously receiving and saw this lot get hold of it.
An example being the regular Tuesday councillors surgery took place in the Moston Methodist church on the lane and the funding they received for hosting the surgeries helped support the church financially. The stadium opened and the surgeries were then held at Pallet Park and the church was told “thanks but no thanks”.

Time and time again residents were told of the “community benefits” of the club being based in Moston. “It’ll be good for Moston” was another soundbite with no substance.

Moston benefited from nothing they offered. They brought nothing that wasn’t already there. They simply displaced services already available and with it they took the money that other agencies had relied upon for years. It was never “good for Moston”. The only ones to benefit are the Moston Rag Socks.

I don’t even know where to begin with this…..
Who makes these fairytale numbers of predicted profit up?
Merchandise gone down despite launching a 3rd kit lol - they wring every single penny out of their fans and then launch a third kit as if it’s doing them a favour and complain that no fucker is buying it lol

Profit down last month due to costs associated with firing the manager and assistant lol

Expenditure on the ground was accepted as ‘it improves the assets value” lol

It can’t all be blamed on sacking the manager (who’s contract would have expired in the summer but their board chose to extend it in January for another two years to a lot of protest from the fans) cost them £8,000 although him & the football committee had a stupid plan of offering too many contracts to players who weren’t performing or good enough in the first place. The plan for this year relied on contracting more players than they needed, or could afford & loaning some of them out to lower league teams.

As for the kits, they’ve had 3 kits for years. Last year they had 4 as they launched the special women’s kit when they went against their own rules and didn’t get the fans to vote on because one of their board members mum’s thought it was a good idea & designed it. so the board decided to bypass their rules & push through one of their mum’s ideas for publicity and cash. The only difference is this year the fans voted to launch 3 new kits that all last for just 1 season only. the problem is a non league team based in Moston surprisingly doesn’t have a large number of fans who all want to buy 3 new shirts every year, much to the surprise of their board & the budget spreadsheet, which famously makes a lot of very optimistic/irresponsible assumptions. My favourite was “the vision” their most detailed business plan ever with many hours of work assumed & budgeted that they would get promoted out of this league this year, crowds would rise by 1,000 & the academy would have over 160 students ran in house so they could take all the profit as the old provider SCL weren’t a good partnership. In reality they sit second bottom of the league, crowds are falling & the in house academy absolutely flopped and they went crawling back to SCL who are now a great fit after all.

In other news, the board are also asking the cash cows to vote on increasing the season ticket & ticket prices as the current prices & pay what you can afford scheme isn’t working, people aren’t donating enough! last year they voted to increase the concession age from 60 to 65 & this year they’ll be looking to raise prices again, it will be interesting to see how the prices will compare against other teams if they are relegated.

For a non league team that’s supposed to be against modern football & promote affordability their not much cheaper than the bigger teams & certainly aren’t representing good value for money. Yet they wonder why moston locals don’t all rush down there to eat and drink overpriced food and beer watching shit football whilst listening to a bunch of pissed up old idiots singing irrelevant united songs

A 3rd kit ! You mean like the real rags did and were slagged off for fleecing the fans ?
Everything they do is exactly the opposite of what they stated they would do when they were set up.

Surely not?

We were told by every Rag Shill journalist who jumped on the FC bandwagon, this is how a fans owned football club should be run.

The funny thing is, you don’t hear anything from those Rag Shill journalists anymore.

Yep

The BBC was all over them and the media followed
But when they were found to be fiddling the books, the board members that were voted by the fans used a large amount of money on themselves and accounts were fudged, but nothing was reported or nobody was prosecuted

I think the BBC hyped them up and then got egg on their faces when money was stolen by their so-called own fans elected board.

They are on borrowed time and any day soon it could fold and gone, then MCC will be held accountable for funding them and knowing they were never going to get the money back,
