FC United Thread

It's monitored to make sure provisions to prevent any potential issues remain in place. Thankfully we've never had any such issues and hopefully never will.
You have had such issues or I wouldn't have been to 3 previous meeting about them and have just had a provisional date through this morning from Daniel Chadwick for a 4th meeting to discuss these issues that you keep saying don't exist seems your not as fully in the know as you seem to suggest you are ;)

NorthManc7 is not backing down a true FCUM fan that will be watching the united game vs newcastle on his skysports dish and box

Would you like me tto post the youtube clip of the 20 or so brave members of the club risking their lives against 3 Leeds fans in Chorley last season?
Knock yourself out. Not sure how a handful of Leeds idiots detouring from Bolton away to cause bother in Chorley will detract from what I said mind.

Haha money grabbing, otherwise known as raising a shed load of money whilst applying for grant funding that all clubs who are building their own ground utilise to help towards financing the development because those options are available. Just because city didn't have to do it doesn't make it invalid.

The whole 'club' is invalid. Set up by a bunch of sulky twats, claiming they will be doing it the ''right'' way .... and sold their soul the second Sky came knocking ..... just like the 'big utd', hypocrites as always. Hope they sink and sink.

How's your radio commentator Swampy doing these days? Did he ever get round to pitching up in a tree on the green field site Pallet Park was built on to protest against the building of your stadium? I mean, him being an avid animal rights activist for many years it's the first thing he would've done if any other club was intending to build a football stadium there, yet when it came to his beloved FC Scum he mysteriously abandoned all those principles he's held for so long.

Probably the same reason why no club just randomly decides to fuck off on the back of someone on the Internet suggesting it ;) Perhaps I'll put it forward as a resolution at the next GM and see how many are onboard with the idea.
You have completely misunderstood my sentiments ... I was referring to their fans and yourself in particular.

He's fine, not abusive and in fact I feel he genuinely feels the club is on the right tracks and doing everything the way it should be done (whatever that means)

However he has sidestepped (or ignored) repeated comments about certain individuals trousering club money and serving themselves rather than servicing members.
I do feel the club is on the right tracks yeah. I don't think we get everything right though, we balls up occasionally and plenty of votes have gone against my personal preference but that's democracy. With thousands of owners there's not a chance everyone is going to have the same opinion on everything but the majority always wins out. The club does a hell of a lot of things right though.

I'm not going to discuss unfounded allegations on an Internet forum, if you have the proof and you feel inclined then tell the relevant bodies and let them do their jobs. From the club's point of view we have auditors in place to make sure the books add up and financial reports get released to members frequently which the more accountant minded members can scrutinise to their heart's content whether online or in person at AGMs.

Why have you suddenly decided to become active on this forum? Genuine question.

They actually did (or some community group did) plant apple trees on the site, to create an orchid. Then they had to pull them all down and remove them as they didn't have permission from the council to do so.
Once again..... ''our club, our rules'' bites them in the arse. They should just stick with the ''Our Club'' bit.

This is the problem when you build a reputation built on sound bites.
Our club our rules is a falacy. Yes it's your club but you have to fall in line with the rules of the FA. So you voted to enter the FA Cup and in doing so are bound to agree with their rules.
So making a song and dance about being asked to play on the telly v Rochdale or Chesterfield and then kicking up a fuss arguing against it was grandstanding (or attention seeking) to save face with members or to appear to be "rebellious" in front of the ever willing media.
It also made the club look stupid and laughed at when inevitably the FA slap you down and tell. you firmly when you are playing the game. And then members start swearing on the telly protesting because they didn't get their way.
Yes members can vote on club shirts, shirt sponsorship (or not) and ticket prices but as soon as you signed up to join the NWCL you agreed to play by the FA's rules just like everybody else does.
Our club our rules isn't a fallacy. One of our rules is to enter competitions where we have to comply by their rules ;)

In all seriousness though there are only so many battles you can fight. I don't think anybody in 2005 expected to be able to do just about anything we wanted. The supporters make the rules for the board to adhere to but the club simply has to operate in a less than perfect (putting it mildly) system and there's no getting away from that right now.

Personally in the long term I'd like to see the supporter owned movement grow along with supporters direct and expand the current SD cup competition and eventually introduce more. Ideally you'd be able to tell the FA to do one and play in a supporter owned league but that's simply not viable right now and certainly isn't something FC United or anyone else for that matter can change overnight; if ever.

Rochdale was great, local derby, Friday night, good publicity and a nice financial bonus so was a no brainer with no down side. On the other hand Monday night football is shit so completely agreed with those wanting to show some opposition. We knew the FA could force our hand and if you found that amusing then fair enough but I think it highlighted just how much power TV broadcasters wheel in our game and that should set off alarm bells to all football fans not just FC fans. I can't imagine you guys are massively impressed when you have to play Southampton away on a Monday night? Or have you all stopped caring? It's a problem that affects us all. End of the day BT got the message and who knows they might not switch us to Monday again, at the very least it got people talking, not a lot more we could have achieved, except maybe a decent result but we failed there :)

Actually I'll be in Gainsbrough watching FC United ;) Don't have a Sky box either, aside from anything else the thing is a right bloody rip off, rather watch live football anyway.

Sky have never come knocking so your entire post is pretty invalid but sky are more than welcome to film our game and give us some cash providing it is of benefit to the club and it's supporters, just like any other broadcaster. Like many others you've made the mistake of believing that we've got a zero tolerance stance on being televised. I'd say it's an easy mistake to make but it's been explained so many times it should have hit home by now ;)

So you broke away from that other lot because you did'nt like the way it was run. Now you're saying you want to break away from the FA ? Proper little Tracy Ullman club. Hated the way Gods own club was run by Swales but never....never...never thought of leaving. Would truly love to say what I really think of your club and fans/supporters/turncoats but we do have ladies on this forum and GDM ,so I won't.

They'll break away from the Football League next.

@NorthManc7 - what position do you hold at the club as you seem to have plenty of insight (albeit mostly a brainwashed one). Did you believe Jermey Corbyn when he said he would get rid of student debt
I own the club ;) At a supporter owned club it's not difficult to have plenty of insight ;)

And no never believed him; he never said it so nowt to believe :)
