FC United is sorry to inform supporters that we have been deducted one point and fined £200 (£100 suspended for 12 months) by the Pitching In Northern Premier League for fielding an ineligible player on Tuesday 21 November 2023 when we drew 3-3 at Bamber Bridge.
The club were found to be in breach of rule 6.9 of the league rules, due to an administrative error when registering Dontai Gabidon as a contracted player.
We take full responsibility for the error, accept the charge and the penalty, and would like to apologise to our supporters, players, first team manager and coaching staff.
The club were satisfied with the hearing process adopted by the Northern Premier League.
This issue has been treated with the utmost importance by the staff and the Board. We are in the process of conducting an internal review to ensure we drive improvement within our football administration.
