FC United thread

This is what I don't understand.
They have no money. They are skint with no sign of any proper money coming in and yet they fuck off for this charade. Basically a jolly for the board and their hangers on.
Why aren't Manchester City Council saying something ? The council gave them a payment holiday and they get rewarded with this !
They are non league European Royalty. Have some respect.

Scraped a 1 all draw at home to Gainsborough tonight with an attendance of just 1113. The number of people actually there will be much lower as that figure always includes ST holders who don’t bother going. They can’t blame the piss poor attendance on the weather or snow stopping people travelling this week either
They missed a penalty to win it :)

The latest chapter in the fc saga is they’re off to play a pointless game in Montenegro against a team that don’t get paid or charge admission which is why the stadium and kick off time are both TBC

It’s going to take a couple of days to get there & they play in Workington on the Saturday before the Monday game but if the fans can book up for both the away trip and the home game ASAP as money is tight and they’ve already forked out for the players flights.

The true irony being they're not even a fuckin Fenix club - they're just fuckin made up - so shouldn't even be involved!!!!

Just saw this gem

FC United is proudly 100% fan-owned, and you are the heart of FC United. We don’t rely on greedy businessmen or tax exiles hiding their wealth in Monaco; it’s the passion and dedication of our supporters that keeps us going.

So no mention or acknowledgment that MCC are the life support machine that keeps them going - or gratitude to the city’s council tax payers who indirectly (via MCC) provided the funds for them.

They are at home to practically relegated Blyth Spartans today, so no travelling army from the north east swelling the attendance. Could be another record breaker!
I suspect it will be a home win and it needs to be for their sake as they’ve played a lot more games than those around them.

Here’s hoping……

So proudly being 100% fan-owned means you spend what you earn right ? Simply Bollocks because their fans don't care enough, Falling gates and debt-riddled means you need charity awards and bucket collection and asking MCC for loans

FCUM are 100% Fake and will always be just a day away from folding

They’re on a good run of form to be fair, if they hadn’t had such a shit start to the year this would be a play off push. You’d think their fans would be happy but they’re staying away from games, Saturday afternoon with no united game to distract the locals and the visiting hordes of Scandinavian & Irish reds in town to watch the mighty Brighton today being sure to rush down to pallet park for a tour before the game yet only 1604 given as yesterday’s crowd, but the number actually there will be less.

In addition to one of their fans creating the critical spoof Bluesky account which they had to close down yesterday here’s board busybody Paul explaining why the manager from Liverpool stormed off during the after match interview as one of their fans was singing about scousers, something their fans have done for 20 years

Obviously their rivalry with Marine is getting intense.

They play in the third tier of non-league football, and there are 88 clubs in the regionalised pyramid at that level. Last season, FC's gate was at least double that of 75 other clubs at the same level - and yet they're constantly pleading poverty, claiming indulgence from the public purse at a time of austerity and generally grim economic conditions, all the while shaking the buckets to receive more donations from the mugs that follow them.

On each occasion I visit this thread, I'm utterly disgusted by the way those in charge at the club show zero responsibility in terms of giving back to the Council money which is desperately needed by Manchester ratepayers. But they're happy to piss away cash on the idiotic vanity project that is the Fenix Cup so they can blabber on about great European nights under the lights. It's really a scandal that the Council isn't m ore proactive in stopping that kind of nonsense.

Those who currently run at FC are simply playing at running a football club, and leech of another club's identity to enable them to do so. That's up to them, but they should at least have the decency to do it with their own fucking money.

The sanctimonious pricks are at it again, “Recent attendances at these rearranged games have been lower than we’d hoped, and we get why. Supporters are spent up, partied out, and the weather hasn’t been kind.” The same “spent up supporters” have chucked over £21k in the last pass of the buckets but the spent up supporters need to chuck another £9k in. As if that wasn’t enough the club in hock for millions due to the charitable nature of our council goes on to say “This club isn’t backed by big money or wealthy owners—it’s powered by us. Every supporter, every volunteer, every co-owner. Together, we’ve built something unique.

Breaking through £20,000 shows what we can do. Now let’s finish what we’ve started. With your help, we’ll smash the £30,000 target and make sure FC United comes out of this winter stronger than ever.

Because that’s what FC United is about. It’s not just a club; it’s a movement, a family, and a beacon for what football should be.

Donate today.

Let’s prove—once again—that together, we’re unstoppable.”

Its like a cult, do they really believe their financial mess & lack of progress on the pitch is a beacon of what football should be?
