FC United thread

As well as the big European game there was a huge #hergametoo cup game for the FC women on Sunday as part of the celebrations for international women’s day. the team ran out in front of 60 people at Pallet Park. The bucketeers women’s team were managing to draw for a change so the game went to extra time before it got abandoned by the ref with ten minutes to go as both teams & benches started a brawl. To top it off the FC women’s team also had a three point deduction in the league for fielding an ineligible player back in October. They have one game to go and sit bottom of the league, facing back to back relegations.

For anyone not familiar with the bucketeers women’s team they are as much of a failure as the men. Following the success of the women’s international team and the rise of the profile of the women’s game the bucketeers thought they could definitely cash in whilst also showing how right on & progressive they are.

They launched a girl’s academy, 1 girl signed up.

They started a wildcats session of football coaching for young girls, cancelled due to a lack of interest,

They decided to pay their women’s team, staff and ensure they play on the hallowed pallet park pitch despite most teams in their league playing on 3G pitches so they can show how progressive they are.

The average attendance is around 80 for the year, which doesn’t seem worth opening the ground for. Looking at the most recent accounts by the end of December the serial losers on the women’s team have lost the club £12,500 in the first 6 months of the year after having been budgeted to break even. Why is a struggling club constantly shaking buckets and struggling to pay staff and bills losing so much on a women’s team that nobody bothers watching?
What's £12,500 for 6 months and counting in the interests of equality.

FC United slam “New Trafford” project!

The Rebels criticise public money being used to fund the stadium.
A spokesperson for the club, Timmy Pallet, said it was disgraceful that the public are expected to fund any aspect of this scheme, adding that if FC United, with 3000 members can build their own ground self financed, then Big Red can do the same with over 1 billion fans world wide.
“it’s £2 for each fan world wide isn’t it” added finance officer Don Ation, further adding “it’s shameless that the club are seemingly going to the Mayor of Manchester and the government and shaking buckets at them. It’s so desperate.
That’s not the FC Way and we urge fans unhappy about this to give us a try. We are 100% fan owned and fan led which is how all clubs should be, standing on their own two feet financially and having a sustainable model to run a club.”

Yeah, but, er, but, we, er, but, yeah we collect old coats for the homeless at Xmas....

Lost 5-2 at home v Leek today. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
My dear old mongrel Sally (R.I.P.), had many a leak on that field back in the early 90s when I used to take her for an evening walk on Broadhurst Fields.
If I'd have known that the fields would have become home to a load of turncoat rags, I wouldn't have bothered to clean up after she had done a dump there as well !!

Leek took quite a few. A bit of mither too apparently.
Yeah when Leek go to "larger" clubs/"bigger" games they actually have a fair few knob heads tagging along.
Went there with Altrincham for (I think) an FA Cup tie when I was crossing grounds off - wasn't pleasant.
Hope there weren't kids/innocents involved - the rest of the splitters are fair game because they like to cause trouble too

Yes but only when it’s 20 onto 3 like on that Chorley away video

After the previous attempts to become the club of north Manchester failed when people wouldn’t even use the free tickets they’ve given up on the local community & they’re now trying to cash in on the anti ratcliffe feeling, linking up with the awfully named 1958 to organise a protest at their game next week. I’m sure that’ll make the glazers sit up & take notice.

Bet the FCSCUM board are wanking themselves silly at the thought of the extra few quid.
