FC United thread

morons pining for the days of the 70s , bullying whoever … one I love to throw to them about the 70s was the no show at Millwall , some of the excuses are hilarious …

Looks like FC United's NWCL recored attendance has been smashed, well done Bury, that's some effort for the 9th tier.

There was a crowd of 2,487 at Pallet Park last Saturday to watch Cheadle Town v Bury.
That’s 130 more than the “magnificent joint demonstration” 2 weeks before.

The Rag Socks have only hit 2,000 plus 3 times this season, the highest being the game they dragged Big Rags in to increase the numbers, and Bury still took more to their game! In a league below the Bucketeers! Yes the biggest crowd at Pallet Park all season was Cheadle v Bury lol

They have one more home game to play and then that’s it finance wise until pre-season games in July (apart from season ticket sales and a tribute game against, er, a team made up of ex rags! They still can’t stand on their own two feet can they! They still have to trade off the back of the club they allegedly turned their back on.

And the council are expecting their first payment of £30K before next season starts….and every month thereafter
Tick tock….. tick tock….

Had a look at the attendances in their League.
They average the 2nd highest (behind the Champions - Macclesfield) at c. 1,600.
This is approx. 3 to 4 times the average of other teams in their League.
Why can't they financially manage on their attendances - all other teams do, on a much lower level.
Think there is a "hole in their bucket" that's going into someone's pocket...

The other teams aren’t flying around Europe playing in front of 16 people and the obligatory dog.

Harry Belafonte and Odetta like this post.

One for the FoCs.

Losing 1-0 at home to Guiseley.

Checked their record.
All season they’ve won 4 at home and lost 9. Could this be 10?

Final game of the season and last opportunity to shake those buckets.
9 weeks to find £30,000 for the council. And then 30 days to find the next £30,000 (repeat every monthly cycle)

Tick tock, tick tock

Drew 1-1 with their 4th crowd over 2,000 this season - 2,223 which is still 500 less than Cheadle v Bury two weeks ago at Pallet Park.
Also everyone in M40 and M9 were offered free tickets, so be interesting to know how many Bucketeers actually paid on the day to get in.

Wouldn’t be too sure loads got in free, the last game they gave free tickets to was in the European tin pot cup when anyone under 21 got in free & only 30 people took them up on it.

They finished the league today and wanted to go out on a bang & arranged a community day, kid’s activities, fire engines etc. gave free tickets to a huge area and once again the good people of moston and surrounds showed they can’t be arsed & don’t want to go there even when it’s free.

On a side note they finished 17th, just above the relegation spots. The vision, their most detailed and well researched business plan they gave the council back in 2022 to convince them to restructure the loans assumed promotion this season, yet another target they’ve not even come close to achieving

They don’t need to find £30,000 every month. They need to pay £30,000 by the end of this accounting year (1st July) they then need to pay back £75,000 the next year

How the feck have they managed to change the repayment amount from £30k a month (£360k per annum) to a mere £75k a year ?
Manchester City Council seem to have given them a saving of £285k a year repayment ?
Who is the MCC representative on the FCUM Board ?
Looks like another Trafford Tramps-loving MCC Councillor has given them a get out of jail card...

I don’t think it was ever 30K a month, I just thought it was and mistakenly said it. They’ve never made a profit in their short lived lives (apart from 500 quid last year lol) so they are never going to repay £360K a year

You’re right, it was never £30,000 a month, but questions still need asking of why the council are treating one business so favourably & are being so generous with our cash.

Originally the entire loan, interest and capital was due to be repaid by 2024. The Buckateers couldn’t afford that so the council gave them a repayment holiday meaning It was no payments for two years, £30,000 this year, £75,000 next year and £91,000 after that.

The council also paid all the legal costs for the Buckateers, agreed to reduce the interest rate to just 6% (with the chance of that decreasing but never increasing) the council also agreed to back date the 4% interest rate decrease to 2023.
