FC United thread

Home league game called off against Stockton tonight. Not that surprising given today’s rain in moston but they’ll be shaking their buckets and talking about unprecedented weather again before long
I hope the game wasn’t called off late and all the pies and other catering had been delivered…….

It’s the buckateers AGM on Sunday. I’m looking forward to logging on & sitting with my popcorn watching the board pat themselves on the back as their latest annual accounts show that they only made a loss of a little over £102k for the latest financial year.

Looking forward to hearing them tell their fans that like turkeys voting for Christmas they need to vote to massively increase their season ticket prices as not enough of them were making the recommended donation & I’ll try not to laugh as they explain the latest plan to pay back our council the £1,103,456 that they owed them at the years end.

Don't forget to share the link again like last year!
When did the amount they owe the council go up from 900K to 1,103,456K?
I wonder if the two council bods will
A) actually turn up
B) Say something......

I tuned into their AGM this afternoon it wasn’t quite as amateurish as previous years and was hosted more securely than the previous teams link to stop any non members logging in. They tried to stop us, even if it didn’t work out.

It still felt a bit like I was watching a cult meeting. They were very proud of the corner they’ve turned (yet again!) and they now genuinely think they have the best most successful leadership team they’ve ever had. Forgetting that everyone has seen the revolving door keep on turning For staff and board members alike. They’ve made some bloody awful decisions over the years but they’re all convinced that this time, finally, they’re going to get it right.

The council were far more complimentary about a business that owes them £1.1 million than you might expect but if those owners can all turn up at more games, bring more people with them, vote to massively increase next years season ticket price, eat more chips and drink more beers in the ground whilst wearing more replica shirts and donate more cash then maybe just maybe they think they’ll be alright.

I presume the debt wasn't discussed and certainly no mention of how they will repay it.

How did the debt go from 900K to £1,100,000?
Have they paid off anything as expected?

Seems like winning promotion this season will be bad business. Of course gates would be expected to rise but so will wages and presumably incoming transfers over the summer too

A home game v Abbey Hey in the Manchester cup tonight, should be crazy traffic jams around St Mary’s and Lightbowne Roads with the huge crowd expected at Pallet Park swelling the traffic for Ciy fans making their way to our game.
If you are travelling through Moston, don’t forget to chuck a quid in the bucket as you pass by…..

Said with deep and heartfelt meaning

The Rag Socks were 2 up but a late equaliser saw a 2-2 draw away at Hyde United.

Well done The Tigers
Used to live in Hull, who are also nicknamed The Tigers.
Their song repertoire included "You've Been Mauled by The Tigers", ending with a ferocious "Grrrrr".
"Tony the Frosties Tiger" thought it was Grrrreat...

Thought that GMP wouldn't allow The Splitters to play at home the same date as when City played against the Etihad ?
Good luck to Abbey Hey F.C. - not the easiest ground to find...
