I tuned into their AGM this afternoon it wasn’t quite as amateurish as previous years and was hosted more securely than the previous teams link to stop any non members logging in. They tried to stop us, even if it didn’t work out.
It still felt a bit like I was watching a cult meeting. They were very proud of the corner they’ve turned (yet again!) and they now genuinely think they have the best most successful leadership team they’ve ever had. Forgetting that everyone has seen the revolving door keep on turning For staff and board members alike. They’ve made some bloody awful decisions over the years but they’re all convinced that this time, finally, they’re going to get it right.
The council were far more complimentary about a business that owes them £1.1 million than you might expect but if those owners can all turn up at more games, bring more people with them, vote to massively increase next years season ticket price, eat more chips and drink more beers in the ground whilst wearing more replica shirts and donate more cash then maybe just maybe they think they’ll be alright.
