FC United Thread

Just looked at the weekends non league scores and they won 4-0 and attracted a crowd of 1,900. They may at this rate get a crowd of over 2,000 - and not make a loss!
I'm sure I read on here that their break even figure was something around 2'300/2'400. ? I'm not sure if they've had that once yet this season.

So if you buy a membership and become a part owner, could the Manchester Council come chasing you for a share of the debt?
From what I gather it is the board members who they could come a knocking on the door. I recall @Mostonisblue posting a letter from their convicted football thug former leader of the board begging fans to dig deep as it was he who was having sleepless nights waiting for the house to be repossessed….

When they were in the league above the break even was around 2,500.
It maybe less as I assume the wage bill will be less and they aren’t paying their mates 30K each per season?

Mmmm.
What do you think will happen ?
This lot seem to be fireproof.
Firstly, MCC seems to have written off the £900k debt.
They are not going to evict the feckers, as FCUM ridiculously seem to have a lot of support and credence with the fans of other Non-League clubs. MCC would be accused of victimising the poor lambs and ruining football.
Unfortunately, I cannot currently see how the MCC debt will ever be repaid ?

I now live in the North East, where a few of their current League opponents are located e g. Hebburn, Morpeth & Stockton.
Unfortunately, they seem to have a reputation of being an idyllic, self-funding underdog that has achieved a recent, minor miracle.
I appreciate that local fans of other, long standing North West Non-League clubs may despise the charlatans.
But, with the BBC & the Guardian (con-man Conn) trumpeting their supposed democratic policies and amplifying any success, they are often wrongly seen as the "club of the people".
They maybe a bunch of chancers and grifters, but their Media team has lifted their profile far higher than where they should be.
If only "World in Action" was still running and investigating this shower of shit...

I can understand that, about fans from outside the north west having that view point, fans from clubs in the NWCL recall the days when they all turned up at small grounds acting the Billy big bollocks (always in numbers as usual).
You only have to see that infamous video at Chorley to see their true colours

It wasn't a serious question. Be funny if they could chase them for the money though.

The other teams in Greater Manchester can’t stand them, but tolerate them as at least they add a decent few to the crowd once a season.

Or the Cook Report.

I appreciate that, as have experienced their fans' behaviour and shenanigans.
A family member played against them several times, when they started out, so attended his team's games against them.
Yes, their fans swelled the crowd, but their arrogant and often aggressive antics made them a serious threat.
Remarkably, this seems to have been airbrushed from the current perception (perhaps, still not in the North West though ?) of these chancers.
Their marketing department certainly earn the money they are probably paid...

Fair play to the Rag Socks.
2 down and won 3-2 at Stockton.
I wonder if the board are secretly hoping the team don't go up.
Sure there would be an increase in crowds, especially away fans, but they'd have to invest way more into the team with bigger wages which they simply can't afford....and if they go up, spend too much and struggle in the league....home crowd is down and so is income, Relegation and they have to offload players at the higher end of the salary scale. it's a Catch 22 for the Bucketeers.

These wins for the palleteers are becoming extremely tedious.

Yes, the Splitters are on a good run, maintaining their promotion push.
Thankfully, their 2 major rivals (Hebburn & Hendesford) also won today.
These 3 are the only realistic teams to be Champions, who obviously gain automatic promotion.
Teams finishing 2nd - 6th, are in the playoffs, with the winners, only, getting promotion.
Hebburn is a small suburb, in between Gateshead & South Shields. So if they get promotion, it will be a massive achievement.
FCUM and Hendesford regularly draw over 1,500 gates, so those 2 should go up, if support is considered...
