Fees.

Feels like a poll would be super useful here.....maybe something like:
Option 1 - it's not my money so I should STFU
Option 2 - it's not my money but I can still have an opinion because I'm on a forum and people on forums share opinions
Option 3 - it is my money because I'm Sheikh Mansour so I'm entitled to an opinion
Option 4 - it is my money cos I'm a City fan and the club belongs to the fans, Sheikh Mansour is just a temporary custodian until he gets bored or the oil runs out
Option 5 - the whole transfer package will undoubtedly include the fee, wages and bonuses, agents commission, how the fee is structured, over what period the fee is paid, image rights, sponsor contribution, sponsorship opportunities, other agreements the clubs may make (involving services or expertise for example) that are not expressly included in the £, other considerations I.e. first refusal on x, y, or z player in the future, other stuff we know fuck all about but may be important to the money men

.......not sure if that helps or hinders :-)

It is absolutely legitimate to question transfer fees. The club operates as a business, and has all the usual operating and financing issues of any business. We might not be shareholders in the business, but as supporters we are stakeholders. There is not an infinite source of capital. Investing large sums on a particular asset means that there is less available to invest in other assets. If we can question the players we sign then we can certainly question the price paid.
You can question anything, but you still have zero insight into our finances...

Opinions and general discussions are NO longer allowed in life in general, WTF

i'm sick to the back teeth of people complaining about the fees we might spend on a player .

for goodness sake ITS NOT YOUR MONEY .

i trust our club.
I am sick of people telling one and all opinions are not allowed.

Discussions and opinions are what life is all about and the reason the world getting in the state it presently is, because discussion is no longer allowed.

I would argue that paying 100m for Grealish is overpaying, and I argued at the time paying 50m for Walker was crazy, I am pleased to say I was so very wrong on Walker, 50M a total bargain but don't tell anyone they don't have the right to discuss matters about the club they support.

In recent years City's transfer business has been pretty sound based on the info I have. I was however uncomfortable that we paid 100m for Grealish. However, I am hoping he starts to perform at his best next season after 1 season of getting to know his role playing under Pep.

Don't see any issue in people expressing their displeasure about how the club spend their money

You see Grealish getting signed for £100mil and not justifying the price tag whereas you see Luis Dias excelling at the dipper for £45mil then it's hard to swallow

Likewise had we spent £150mil on Kane last year we probably wouldn't have any money for Haaland and maybe would've had to sell players just to balance the books...something we don't have to do now

I don't care if the club spend £50mil on Phillips, my problem is that for that fee we should be getting someone better than that which helps the team
