Fellaini and Baines

Re: Fellaini and Baines to Man United

Fellaini's release £22m release clause expires on the 31st July

Looking increasingly unlikely that Utd will sign these two players. If they were in their plans, they'd have done it by now so that they can integrate them into their squad.

However, if they are frustrated elsewhere then maybe they will move for them so can't be entirely ruled out. I thought it would have been a priority for MUFC to replace the 32 yr old Evra

Manchester United consider £22m Fellaini move as Fabregas hopes fade

The Premier League champions are weighing up a bid to meet the Everton star's release clause, with the club losing heart in their pursuit of the Barcelona midfielder

Manchester United are set to turn their attentions to Marouane Fellaini as their hopes of luring Cesc Fabregas away from Barcelona continue to fade, Goal understands.

The Premier League champions are considering a move to trigger the Everton star's £22 million release clause, with Fabregas looking increasingly likely to remain a Camp Nou player ahead of talks with coach Gerardo Martino on Monday.

Fellaini, who was seen dining at Rio Ferdinand's Rosso restaurant in Manchester over the weekend, will see his release clause increase on August 1 and, as such, United are quickly readying an offer.

Sources close to the club have also indicated that new boss David Moyes is considering a move for Fellaini's team-mate Leighton Baines in what would be a double raid on his former employers. The left-back, who was targeted by Sir Alex Ferguson last summer, is understood to be available for between £15m and £20m.

The Belgian currently earns £75,000-a-week at Goodison Park and Old Trafford officials are willing to sanction a salary package upwards of that if they submit a bid for his signature.

Moyes, who brought the former Standard Liege star to the Premier League in 2008, is keen to bolster his central-midfield options, with Paul Scholes having retired and Darren Fletcher's ongoing recovery from illness.

United are understood to be losing heart in their pursuit of Fabregas, who emerged as the the club's top summer target after they missed out on Thiago Alcantara, who joined Bayern Munich earlier in July.

Barcelona officials have long insisted that the former Arsenal captain is not for sale this summer, despite repeated and public enquiries from United.

Fellaini is seen as a cheaper alternative in central midfield, and hinted that he would be open to following his former boss to the Premier League champions in May.

"I only want to go to a club where the manager really wants me," said the 25-year-old. "In 2008, Everton did everything to convince me, especially David Moyes. He made me the player I am now."

The Toffees star has impressed United in recent years, scoring twice in his last three games against the Old Trafford side.

Ok. I've never ever posted info as I'm not itk in the slightest and living down in Cornwall I'm pretty far removed from it all. However, an Everton fan came into wgere u work today and we got talking, about moyes and transfers.

I mentioned Baines first and he said there, was no way Baines was going to utd. He sais his wife new Baines and his missus and had it direct from the horses mouth. I asked was it cause if the rumour that Baines disliked moyes ( which I heard in here). He said no, Baines wasn't like that and was a real down to earth guy and was completely happy at Everton and wanted to become a legend there.

He said of fellani that urs if they were going to go there had to hurry up cause of the clause in his contract which runs out soon and that also fellani would demand ridiculous wages Si that might put a stop to it as well.

Like I said, just repeating what I was told and I didn't know this guy at,all Si he could be completelt bullshitting me.

Sent using my learn to write ABC.

Thanks for the info.
