From The Guardian:

6) Manchester City's success was hard to stomach

A whole chapter dedicated to Manchester City's title victory details how their Premier League success was difficult for Ferguson to stomach. His wife, Cathy, told him that the final day of the 2011-12 campaign was the worst day of her life, and that he was determined to usurp them before retirement. Ferguson says United "absolutely battered" City during their 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford, but insisted there was no animosity towards Roberto Mancini. However, Ferguson said Mancini "let himself down" by allowing Carlos Tevez to return to the side after the Bayern Munich incident. JR

Selective memory is a common feature in alcoholics.
I presume he has conveniently forgotten how Shreck pimped himself out to his biggest rivals to double his pay packet when he had the old wino over a barrel?

I'll go further than that. I reckon him and Gill set the whole Rooney thing up to put pressure on the Glazers to raise the wage ceiling.

He does. I know someone in the game who met him a couple of years ago and found him to be very bright too. He's no fool that's for sure.
But he's no Ferguson either I suspect.

Ferguson was no great shakes. He had the players, he had the infrastructure, MANUre had a special relationship with the PL and the FArce despite what Rags think. Where was Gill t'other day? Sitting next to the old GPC and sporting his Rag tie! Hasn't he gone to Uefa now to further MANUre's advantage.

How did he do with East Stirling?
