know a fair bit about what really happened when Ferguson was stupid enough to take issue with John Magnier, Michael Tabor, JP McManus and the Coolmore mafia over Rock Of Gibraltar and other matters, so I will be very interested to see just how the alcoholic revisionist rewrites history here.
No comment apparently......once the deluded GPS took on these heavy weights there was only one winner.
Slur was well out of his depth and when facing the Coolmore mafia..(.these guys swim with the sharks.)....old purple nose was just a little boy
in this sort of company.
They were unable to destroy his personal assets(I believe they would have done if possible)because of his standing within the football
fraternity but they used the back door by selling to the Glazers(whose method of operating would be well known to them)and so pretty
much undermine the future of the club in the medium/long term. GPS will still be very wealthy but this confrontation means that his
beloved club is basically f....d for all intents and purposes for a good few years to come and cause GPS a lot of heartache. They played
the long game.
I'm under no illusion that Coolmore would have always chosen to sell to the highest bidder but their choice.......well that was theirs.
As an aside, the mib made a statement up front and in your face when they invaded that race meeting.....Coolmore didn't have to.

IIRC, he claimed in a previous book that he was at home to watch the scores coming in of the other games that day.
As we all know, it was at 3 O'clock on a Saturday, and there were hardly any games that kicked off at other times back then.
