30 million is absolutely ludicrous, however.
Not that the price matters but how can you possibly say this when we've not even seen him in a City shirt on the pitch yet?

quite shocked to be honest. not saying he is not going to be good, but 30 million for a 28 year old brazilian player with only 5 international caps. looks a decent player, but so is yaya toure, silva, tevez, nasri etc and they cost 25 million and below.

Name me a better defensive midfielder than him , the guy dominated midfield in literally every single match for Shakhtar , and yes he can shoot. Expect a bumper performance from him this season as he wants to be the part of Brazilian squad for World Cup.

who's he best compared to, playing style wise?

Ramires with much better passing I reckon and better tackling
That's really the only close one except he's just better at everything than ramires. I'm not thrilled about the fee but the work he's gonna put in for us will justify it in the end.

Move on past the fee guys we just got a hell of a player

This signing will release Yaya to once again.

Dinho holding, Yaya attacking.

Jesus on the right, Silva on the left, Sergio and Cavani up front. Where does Isco play? :-)

Tevez(?), Dzeko(?), Barry, Garcia, Nasri, Milner, to make way.

You can't really tell how much he's worth until we've seen his contribution on the pitch
If he's instrumental in winning the title and/or getting us to the 1/4 or semis of the CL , how do you gauge his worth to the club ?
It's holistic now.

On 6 June, FC Shakhtar and Manchester City reached an agreement regarding the transfer of the Pitmen’s midfielder Fernandinho to the English club. The Citizens signed the Brazilian for 40 million euros

Garcia,Tevez and Barry will be off (barry might see out his contract) Nasri and Milner will stay both will play a huge part next season.
Lescott will stay Rodwell will be a superstar for us next season.
Kolorov will leave.

Anyone have the link of him dominating Chelsea?
There's also one gif in particular floating around

He will be very motivated because of the WC next year and he wants to get into the Brazil squad, but hope it will be the same in the remaining 3 years of his contract.
(Even if he ends up not going to the WC after all. Could happen as Sandro, Lucas, Paulinho, Ramires all will fight hard to get into the national team and others as well.)

The player is absolutely good, easily an upgrade on what we have said in an other topic he knows/does everything what Barry dont.

Price is too high, last year we played the role than no more City tax, we dont pay over the odds and walk away instead of spending that extra.

I think we paid City tax here in this transfer, especially considering the players age, no resale value. (Modric was cheaper, Fabregas as well with being 3 years younger and proved in PL.)

Hope Fernandinho will be a very important part of the team. After all it would a big joke to start Barry or Garcia and benching him.

Winter break or the lack of it could be interesting for him as in Ukraine they have a 3 months long break because of the very cold weather.

I'd just like to thank all the Manchester City fans who've chipped-in to make this deal happen, you've bought a very good player.

I hope he's worth it after putting this weeks paper round money in?

I haven't been in town for a beer since Saturday,i put all my beer tokens into it.
