Huge money for Fernadinho no doubting it if it £30 million or whatever. For a defensive midfielder is huge money. I am guessing this will see some of the midfielders being pushed out and moved on. So it aint all that bad in my view.
Our record with Brazilian players aint good. They seem to do shit for us. I liked Elano and Robinho but my god when they were good they were brilliant but when they were bad they were useless and a waste of space at times. I just hope this lad is more of a force compared to those 2. Interesting to see how he gets on at the club. I hope he is ready for the physical side of the game. We know he can handle the British weather after living and playing with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The fee's like a Gary Cook and Mark Hughes transfer!
We have paid £30 million for a player that constantly delivers in the CL.

Enlighten me who was similar?

I was going for irony lol

Part of me thinks we could have got someone a bit younger for slightly more, Vidal perhaps...

i'm waiting for Napoli's reply.

"ah City, you're paying £30m for a guy from Ukraine, ok, you can give us the £50m we want for Cavani then".

That kind of overspend is only acceptable if we meet our profit target and get every player on our A list of targets this summer, whilst freezing ticket prices next summer.

Okay, got conclusive proof? Know what our targets are? What we have available?

Think it's pretty clear who our targets are.

You can slag me off all you want the fact is we've overpaid, he's a quality player but the silly overreactions to my post just sum up the childish mindset of some on here who like to grossly exaggerate things for a reaction.

My simple point is that I hope us overpaying on this signing does not drive up the price on our other targets, because if so we either don't get them which will be a failing or we struggle to meet our sustainability requirements.

And the above is purely showing concern for our club, it's funny how stuff gets twisted.

An exciting start to the window let's hope the Barca boys deliver on the other targets, if so we'll have a great chance next season.

My simple point is that we have two blokes, hired by the man at the top, to do his bidding for him. They're experts; we are not. They're experienced in football negotiations; we are not. They don't seem to be too concerned about the fee - even if it means the price of other targets increase; yet, for some reason, some posters are.

That's the reason why I agree with people who say that he is worth what the club is willing to pay. FFP doesn't even come into it because if this particular deal, or others like it, had the chance to derail us from our attempt to comply, then it wouldn't go ahead.

We have some of the wealthiest people on the planet, who also happen to possess some of the best business brains in the world, structuring and shaping our destiny. We are going to have possibly the best training facility in world football, a stadium expansion that the vast majority want and some of the best players in the world playing for us; for little old City -not to mention our revenue has absolutely fucking rocketed in recent years and shows no signs of deviation from that trajectory anytime soon.

I'm aware of what nurses get paid, that children are starving in Africa and the rhino's fucked. However, it seems a little churlish to quibble over a few million quid when the people who are pulling the strings seem to have the club's best interest (and therefore their own) at heart. Up to now they have pretty much answered most blue's dreams - dreams that most thought would never come true.

He'd cost more and isn't available.

I try to look at this transfer from a scousescumchav sort of perspective, it's hard but I try, I would be gritting my teeth with a distraught hatred at these transfers, all the time knowing city are doing a redknapp type blowing out of the water, then I try to look at it from a bitter red hacks point of view throwing the old city are ruining football what about the holistic youth development sort of view? Then whoopee it's the old to much money being spent on wages to hit the newspapers from the old mr gills fa? Make no doubt about this guys we have got them all doing the old half a crown sixpence and they don't like it up them? These transfers will have a very deep impact on the hypocrites and I Love it.

Owe you a pint for tonight Pete, someone had to do it and it seems you have taken the mantle of gently poking fun at the never happy's.

I can sit back with my beer and giggle, cheers bm :)
