Whoever plays, he won't be as good as Fern. Does anyone know our record without him in the last 2 seasons?

Gundogan did very well last season in that role

Yes. If the youth are good we need to give them opportunities when our first team players get injured. We're at home to a mid table club, if ewe aren't going to take the risk now, given we have so many injuries, when are we?!

The Chelsea and Arsenal league games Fernandinho played at the back so hopefully this won’t effect the shape of the midfield which took both those side apart should be able to do it again.

I will put my tin hat on but we seemed to drop in performance levels in the last two games when Fernandinho was back in his normal position.

What about trying zinchenko there or is that stretching it to much? He could adapt as he has done at left back. Maybe not the right time.

It'll be two playing the role - gundogan with either Bernardo or de bruyne. The shape will have to change to reflect that fernandinho does 2 jobs (at least 2) for the team.

Stones and Kompany are not options for this role.

Stones playing there is one of the reasons we are 1 point behind at the min.

I'm pretty certain Gundogan will play the role in all league games if fit and Danilo and maybe Delph will cover the 2 cup games. Unfortunately the 3 cups games that fernandinho started was 1 to far in hindsight he should have sat out Newport game.
