Fernandinho is hugely underrated

His game is limited when he's had to play with Toure in a two, often doing the defending and pressing on his own. Kante at least has Drinkwater alongside him who puts in the same work rate and pressing.

Fernandinho is actually a box to box player, we just can't utilize him in that role often.
I agree except I still think he needs someone who can be the main ball carrier or deeper play maker to play with him. Somebody like Toure but with more acceleration and a higher work rate. But I also think it's only a good idea to press as a team and not as a 1 or a 2, and since we don't press as a team, Dinho and Otamendi end up playing a high risk pressing game. It's great when they break up play and launch a counter but it's also risky when their press is passed round because it leaves then hopelessly out of position.

All that will thankfully be sorted next season though

No disrespect to Barry and his fantastically cerebral game. But you don't need to watch Dihno more than once to know you are watching a supremely talented CM. Fernandihno pops off the screen like few central mids do without dribbling.

Different styles, but he pops off the screen like Micheal Essien used to for Chelsea. Flat out dominant.

Dude is a bloody gazelle with a pit bull mentality.

Hey, I'm not having a bad word said about Gazelles - there's no finer Dutch bike!

A guy that seldom has a poor game, and seems to grow an extra leg in our biggest matches.

As others have said, he's the first name on the teamsheet for me and probably my favourite player at the club.

He's a damn stud.
A box to box boss
Love his passion
We played well with he and Nando behind the press we ran recently...

Like when you said we were gonna lose v Chelsea, clueless lad.
We would have lost if Chelsea could have been arsed I underestimated how much they'd fallen away. The Newcastle game confirmed that.

Whenever I see Greyworm on Game of Thrones I immediately start humming the Fernandinho song.

I (jokingly) refer to Fernandinho, Fernando and Delph as The Unsullied.

As I've said on here before, Dinho is possibly the best/most important player on the team. a 6/10 with Cuntinho getting a 8/10 is ridiculous.

Been a good buy even at 30 million and getting on a bit. Seems a good lad too.

You can tell he's good because aguero, silva etc will always pass to him if they can whereas some players you can see their reluctance (Navas)

My player of the season and a superb buy just a shame he's not a few years younger

Player of the year by some distance been outstanding can defend and can go past a man , quality footballer
