Almost as overrated as Hulk.

LLorente would be a good signing for Aston Villa, Everton, Tottenham and those kind of lesser teams.
couldnt agree more. All i see is just a big lump who dominates in the air because spanish league is full of midgets. He wouldnt be as dominant in the air in england

the same big lump who smashed fuck out of the rags last season??

i'd of took him over edin any day of the week.

I've watched a lot of Bilbao this past year or so, due to my interest in Martinez, and based on those hours upon hours I have seen of Llorente I am of the above mentioned opinion. No one is seriously saying he's not a good player, but so is for example Defoe, Crouch, Holt and Fletcher, - just not good enough for us, nor any of the PL title contenders in my opinion.
Maybe he could be prolific in sides such as Liverpool or even Spurs, but Ade is a better player if they need an additional striker. I stand by what I said, that he is not any way too good to fit into a mid table PL team, and not good enough for a top side (except maybe as a back-up squad player)

I'd rather have Clint Dempsey in our sqaud than Llorente, simply because there is a much bigger chance he'd actually be useful to us than the Spaniard. The only reason he occasionally plays for the national side is that Spain are desperately short of good strikers. With Villa out injured and an under-performing Torres, Llorente's inclusion in the Spain squad can be justified, but that's not on his own merit.

In the Euros, Del Bosque actually preferred to play with no striker at all than to play Llorente. In fact, I don't think he got a single minute of game time during the entire championship, but I could be mistaken there.

Llorente is to Dzeko, what Odemwingie is to Aguero: He still a good player, but in an inferior class.

If we needed a good header and was short of a striker Llorente could be a good alternative, provided we got him for around £10mil and he was prepared to spend a lot of time on the bench.

I guess it's quite obvious that I am not one of his biggest fans, but I do base my view on actually watching him play. A lot.

i agree...ade and dzeko is better players. but llorente has such a reputation that people assume he's world class or close to it. like you said del bosque prefered cesc and when he needed a striker, it was torres. a striker that can atleast move around. for defenders movement is the hardest to defend against. thats why tevez and aguero combination is nightmare, you dont know where you have them. llorente is very easy to play against and cbs in england will relish players like him

Llorente to juve would be bad news
Juve the last realistic place for dzeko to go
The only way we go ro Cavani or Falcao is if Dzeko leaves
promises to be a fun 2 weeks

From the creators of "Silva, lacks pace and strengt for the Premiership", "Mata, a bit lightweight for the league" and "Cazorla? who? He is not that good because he is not a Real/Barça player", comes "Llorente is overrated and a Aston Villa player at his best". :P

A typical cliché about big men and a typical cliché about spanish league defenders.
A big lump?
He is really good with the ball at his feet despite of his height and he is a very good player for that reason. There are a lot of 6 ft players but most of them can't play football, Llorente can.

Totally agree.

Bump. Llorente's class, he's honest, hardworking, great first touch and control, can hold the ball up and is a serious threat in the air. Also he's Basque, which normally means that he's as hard a nails and is also capable of cooking Michelin quality food on a back garden barbecue.

However I think Dzeko will come good this season. We need a CB and an attacking MF.

Daily Telegraph are reporting today that Llorente may now move to a club from London or Manchester. Figure that one out for yourselves.

Rochdale or Brentford, I've heard.

Chelsea, they need a striker more than we do.

If you think Dzeko will come good this year then fair enough....... I ask you though, what will he cook...... cabbage ???

Llorente's agent has said his client will speak about his destination tomorrow, and said Juventus, one London club... and one Manchester club are interested. Can't be the rags after signing Van Pursestrings. But at the same time surely he can't come here if Dzeko doesn't leave?

real agents are to be believed about as much as twatter agents - they spin shit (such as Manchester City are in for my boy) to get the best deal for their players and therefore also themselves

-- Wed Aug 22, 2012 10:51 am --
