Fernando Torres [Merged]

Torres is a very good player however to give a players like Lescott and De Jong would be ridiculous. It does my head thinking we may give one of better players away to sign a "wow signing". Hopefully its just rumour.

Actually instead of signing yet another forward best us try and buy a top class centre half.

If your assumption was to be correct.

Based on NYC - Onuoha, Ireland, Lescott and perm any one of ten others!

so it is correct, you devil you! A lower fee and four players?? Hmmmmm good deal for Liverpool, and we get our WOW signing. OK, im bubbling..... :)

Er guys, I think Tolm's just making a general observation on the pre-season performances thus far. His every sentence is not some labyrinthine conundrum.

Although I for one will now assume that we're swapping Ireland, Onouha, Lescott, Barry, Sweep and De Jong for Torres, in an fucking insane and unprecedented players plus cash deal.

Of course I would like us to sign Torres, but not at any price.

I really hope we wouldn't let de Jong go as part of any deal. At what he does, he's bloody fantastic. I'd far rather we let Barry go than de Jong to be honest.

suppose we all have our opinions on players - i think Barry is class at what he does to be honest, just as De Jong is class at what he does. Different players, but in the mix we now have, I would keep Barry everyday. Personally, I dont think he will let either go....

I agree! I meant bubbling with anger at this insane and unprecedented deal! I would want to keep all those mentioned and splash the cash to be honest. Most of it will get swallowed up in the debt, rather than them having 4 (or 5?) decent players at their disposal

Much as I am excited by the thought of getting Torres, I agree with Revolver, it's time for a world class centre half beause we certainly haven't got one of those yet.

tomie info has told us ?????????????????????????????????????????

To be fair, Yozzer, not much.

Have spoke to a couple of lads on PM.

All I know is we pulled the plug two weeks ago, but something happened in last 48 hours in terms of still attempting a 'selling job'

Personally, can't see it, but would dearly love to be proven wrong on this one.

Was it Mancini saying we'd be interested at the right price?

Any ITK confirm Ireland is off to Liverpool for £8m, well agreed apart from Mancini giving it the nob

the guy works at the club and hes told me stuff before that was right, but im a sceptic.

and no its not part of another transfer.

I don't want to lose any of our players, especially for Fernando fucking Torres. I love them all.

even Jo?

Jo gets a tiny bit less love, but only because he's mostly been away on loan. I'd love him to force his way into the squad though.

We honestly don't need Torres. Balotelli excites me - he's a bit mental, I could see myself loving him immensely - but I think we could easily get by with Tevez, Adebayor, Bellamy, Nimely and.... a fit and focused Jo!

Seriously, is there a better pairing than Manu & Carlitos in the league? Perhaps Anelka & Drogba, but they're getting on, and I'd be wholly confident of our two outscoring them this season.

Yeah, it might well have been that well-documented quote.

tbh i wouldnt mind if de jong went, hes good at a crunching tackle, but cant deliver a killer pass.

Killer pass? That's not his job.

His job is to stick to twats like Rooney like glue, put them entirely off their game by being in their face all the time and give them no let up. He does it better than anyone.

True, but he proved in the WC he can play the killer pass. he put through a sublime ball for Van Persie against Denmark that led to a goal. He will greatly improve Liverpool if we let him go. I'd rather keep him and let Barry go.
