Dalgliesh is not a long term option surely.

Ian Ladtman has just tweeted

Notion of Torres becoming recently unsettled is false. Told #mcfc 18months ago he was interested in offers.Clearly saw #LFC demise coming.

Seems City are really not interested which I find strange but we've gotta trust our guys know what they are doing (I hope)

I'm not going to take anything Ladyboy says at face value but if that is indeed true then perhaps City have moved on from Torres and are simply not interested now due to partial loss of form/injuries.

To be honest, I hope he stays at Liverpool until the summer. If he goes to Chelsea now then if he stays fit for the rest of the season he could fire them back into the title race and we might be left battling it out with Spurs for 4th spot.

Probably BS but spanish media apparantly saying city have bid in excess of £50 million to secure Torres...

Neither can I. I wouldnt complain if he did sign for us, but it really wouldnt bother me if we didnt get him. I can honestly say thats the first time as a City fan i've ever felt able to turn down a player like Torres, crazy!

I know exactly how you feel mate - surreal isn't it! I posted this in the transfer thread in reply to someone who 'would be gutted if we didn't get Torres'... but feel it relevant here too..

Torres on his day and in the mood is a fabulous player, and I would have him at City no sweat.

But we can't buy everyone! Players will move between clubs, and it stands to reason that our rivals have cash, so will buy class players. We have a fabulous squad, and Dzecko, when he has settled in, I am convinced will become City goalscoring legend.

So don't panic, Chelsea won't become world beaters overnight (will Drogba and Torres gel for starters?), and Spurs are starting to feel the strain....

Got a touch of de-ja-vu reading that haha! I think our strikeforce is complete and I wouldnt want to add to it now, let them settle in together and the goals will follow. I agree about Dzeko, can see him scoring goals for fun once he settles into the 'Mancini' system.

Very surprised that we dont appear to be interested. It doesnt seem concrete that Chelsea can come up with the required money so why not throw in a £45 million bid and get Liverpool to accept. It then leaves Torres with a straight choice between staying at the club he has just handed in a transfer request to or coming City!

We should buy him his goalscoring rate is second to none and have we really have a proper 30 goals a year forward the answer is no it would be a massive mistake if we didn't go for him.
And would he really reject us i cannot see it we are in such a better place than we was when we tried before
