From what I have read and seen he looks a good player, just give him time to settle

No he needs to be a world beater straight away, or else he's shit like Fernandinho was.

Fernando waiting on City move

Fernando's agent has confirmed that the Porto midfielder is waiting to finalise his long awaited move to Manchester City.

The 26-year-old was the subject of a bid from City in January that was rejected, but now Manuel Pellegrini's side have returned to re-open talks.

Now a deal, reportedly worth £16million, is close to being completed with the player expected to arrive in England this week to undergo a medical.

Speaking to Maisfutebol, his agent Antonio Araujo stated: "Everything is in Porto's hands and we hope to finalise the transfer by the end of the week.

"Fernando is in the city of Porto waiting for Porto tell him their decision about the documents they have received so that he can travel immediately [to Manchester]."

Fernando is not at the World Cup finals having not been called up by his native Brazil, while earlier this year he was ruled ineligibe to play for Portugal, for who is now a naturalised citizen.

Because he now has a Portuguese passport, City no longer require a work permit to sign the midfielder.

Am I right in saying he will be a starter in most prem and champs league games?

Yep, especially away from home. Might not see him much at home, can't see us going 3 in midfield and 1 up top at home all that often, but I could be wrong.

Good stuff, we we're a little too gung-ho last season (very good on the eye I must say!) so someone willing to sit back will make us a lot more solid. Get him and sagna and I fancy us strongly for the title again

It'll be amusing for me especially, I've got two guys behind me that don't even bother saying Fernandinho, they just call him F, can't wait to see what they come up with now.

Can I just add that those wanting songs to fucking abba songs have blatantly never been to a football match. Fucking abba!
