I am surprised to see Sagna not already being announced after all the medical completion and deal agreed talk in the media this week.
his contract was almost up at the time and he's since renewed it.@BluePhil8 said:So what's the deal with this guy?

Manchester City have had first signing sewn up for months, announced soon
O Jogo are a little cocky today in their prediction that Fernando will be announced as a Manchester City player soon, although they probably have a right to be so. The Portuguese newspaper have been first with the news about his potential move to England for many months and when there were fantasy English reports about him flying to England on transfer deadline day, O Jogo explained what was really going on.
Fernando gave Porto his word that he would renew his contract just after the transfer window had closed, which sounded a little far fetched given that he would have been available on a free transfer. Manchester City had pushed a little to sign him during the winter but didn't want to upset Porto given their long standing interest in Eliaquim Mangala, Porto's supposed star defender.
When the window shut, Fernando refused to renew his contract and Porto weren't happy one bit. It all got public and messy and Fernando was threatened with the rest of the season in the reserves. He renewed, but the suspicion in the Portuguese media was that any deal contained all kinds of clauses to allow him to leave.
O Jogo have been saying for months that his move to Manchester City is all but done. They claim on Friday that a deal will be done for less than the €25m reported in England and could be announced soon. The newspaper say that Fernando has a firm promise that he can leave this summer.
