according to the article he had a clause in his contract if an offer comes from spain they would let him negotiate
 
Well no big revealing apparently it’s to do with ffp so they must be hoping they can sell it a couple of there players will leave! Can see this dragging out all through January.

Yep their wage bill is still too high, they need a few to leave or renegotiate their contracts before they can register Torres.
Wouldn’t be the biggest surprise ever if the deal collapsed because of their shambolic financial state, and then the cheap fucks tried to renegotiate a lowball offer in the summer, after saddling us with an unsettled player for 6 months
 
Wish we had Levy. That guy knows how to keep a player that doesn't want to be here!
