i think this lad is perfect for what we need

No he doesnt have the pace of Sane - few do. But from the little Ive seen technically he is a good and possibly more two footed than Sane as well with an eye for a pass as well. He looks like he could really stretch the play - comfortable going inside and outside the fullback, good at getting in behind but also comfortable playing in between the lines (somethign Sane was great at)

The only question is will he succeed where Sane didnt - and be able to put the effort in defensively ?

just stats against Raz, as Leroy hasn't played.

Tackles success rate: Torres - 51%, Raz - 55.3%
Tackles per game: Torres - 0.68, Raz - 0.81.
Dribbled past per game: Torres - 0.65, Raz - 0.66.
Interceptions: Torres - 14, Raz - 14.
Fouls Committed - Torres - 20, Raz - 28.
Clearances - Torres - 7, Raz - 4.
Crosses Blocked - Torres - 5, Raz - 0.
Passes Blocked - Torres - 17, Raz - 13.
Aerial success rate - Torres - 42.8%, Raz - 38.1%.

So comparable really, either has a minor edge in different areas but no huge gulf.

Im new to this forum but i thought id comment on ferran torres, when im not watching city i enjoy watching other leagues so iv watched alot of la liga , bundesliga , seri a and ligue un. iv watched alot of valencia this season and i know the guy is 20 but my god hes good first game, which made me take notice of him was athletico madrid they drew 2-2 but ferran was the standout player. he hasnt got the lighting quick pace as sane, but ill go out on a limb here and say he beats sane technically, this season he should atleast be on about 18 assists if it wernt for how shocking valencia are at finishing.

hes one of those players that gets you out of your seat everytime hes on the ball, hes looking to do something cause a problem or score a goal. Onto that atheltico game he tore their defence to pieces theres a clip if i can find it of saul marking him, he asks for help and torres dinks it over him. and sets up a chance hes been doing it all season. im not over exaggerating here but hes on par technically with Havertz.

Someone else that agrees with me on how bad Valencia are at finishing. He’s put some passes on a plate (with cutlery even) for them only to miss. I said he’d fit right at City as the team creates a host of chances and miss shedloads too. Haha.

The good thing is that he’s still young and can only get better.

Agree with your points. There are some with Sané’s pace (kind of). However, they lack quite a bit of that Pep is looking for really.

For infantce, Stengs that plays in the Dutch league likes it to feet. Doesn’t have blistering pace, and doesn’t get in behind. However, technically gifted and composure beyond his years. Diaby at Leverkusen (which someone has likened to Mane) has the pace to burn. Still quite raw but very aggressive and is a hard worker. Has caused Bailey to remain on the beach for a lot of the season.

With regards to defensive duties, I believe that’s something the coaching staff at City will ensure if he’s brought in. He’s still very young and has time to learn and add more facets to his game.

Yes he'll be told to work hard defensively. Those that don't won't play. He's a very good and technical player which Pep likes. He's not just a regular winger who has a good cross and a bit of trickery, but also has the ball control and skills like a #10. He can drop deeper and play to another team mate who runs into space. He makes good decisions and can play all over the place. Pep likes to switch players position and have them pop up in different positions to keep opposition guessing and he's perfect for that.

I’m 0.4% convinced you are ‘ITK’.

Thread got deleted on uefa investigating man city with a view to fine and ban :) low and behold it became true months later.

Cas verdict low and behold i stated it would be over turned. Thread got locked.

Transfer targets Thread locked.

Then get a ban because i will not reveal my source or identy. Not a wum at all.

Explain away :)

Be interesting to do the same comparison when Torres has had a season or two under Pep
