Torres didn't come on and score last night, so that's case closed for a some. And there is no evidence of Torres being inferior to Pulisic

What I personally like with Torres, among other things, is his directness, his instinctual drive to take on an opponent, with pace or dribbles or a combination. Very exciting to watch and he would likely give us a shitload of free kicks in good positions, as well as more crosses for our striker to make something of.
But is that directness something Pep wants? It doesn't really look like it.
Well he did buy Mahrez, a very direct player. I think he likes the options - and Sane was a very good plan B, pace, direct, a bit mercurial. I see that in Ferran too

Do you think Mahrez has looked a "direct" player in a City shirt?Well he did buy Mahrez, a very direct player. I think he likes the options - and Sane was a very good plan B, pace, direct, a bit mercurial. I see that in Ferran too
having never seen this lad play im not in the slightest excited ,hope hes as good a some people say
Didn't know much about him but having watched the peice @twosips did on him I think he'll be better for us than Sane was with his speed and directness on either side, plus seems a bit more like a Pep / City player personality wise from what was on the Esteemed Kompany vid.having never seen this lad play im not in the slightest excited ,hope hes as good a some people say
Same here, Steve did a great job with this one. Was a bit worried that he would be more like an 8 type of player that we already have, but it seems like he is exactly what we need.Didn't know much about him but having watched the peice @twosips did on him I think he'll be better for us than Sane was with his speed and directness on either side, plus seems a bit more like a Pep / City player personality wise from what was on the Esteemed Kompany vid.
Watch a video or two, seems like he's definitely coming anyway, might as well get excited.
Given how we face 10 behind the ball every week I think we need some direct play to beat a man with dribbling at pace, sane brought us that when on his gameYeah, but with Mahrez; when he gets into a certain position, he tends to stop, to allow for the rest of the team to move up-field, as opposed to just continuing his run. I see why, as often he has no striker to cross to and thus have to pass the ball inwards and/or backwards.
Gabby was also more direct when he got here, but have adapted to our way of playing, and the same could be said about Raheem as well.
I really hope we'll see more directness next season, again mostly because I myself think it's fantastic to watch, but of course it has to be in line with Pep's master plan.
He's all right foot
He's all right foot, it just doesn't make sense in respect of him being an outright Sane replacement?
I know he has occasionally played on the left, but I don't want to see another wide player who automatically wants to cut inside on to their favoured foot.
That's already a problem for us trying to break down teams inviting us to come inside and play in front of them.
He's actually really good with either.
