I'd rather go out to be honest. Can't see us getting past one of the heavyweights in our current state and getting top 4 is vital.

not making the top8 is a bitter pill in this new format. we could have had easy, no extra games go to last 16 as a seeded team waiting for our next opponent and making sure we finish the tie at the Etihad.

now what will happen is extra two games in February which has Newcastle, Arsenal, Tottenham, dippers as a PL fixture already, who knows our opponent might be some real hard one as PSG or Real or some decent mid level side like Sporting, we deffo get more injuries on those games right before the run in starts for PL, and we may lose out on the tie as right now we play like we played vs Tottenham and Lyon on those knockout games in CL few years back.
even if we do win the playoff tie we are not seeded and will decide the tie away from home for sure which is a disadvantage.

will one win in the next 3 be enough to get top 24?

Everyone has a right to be upset with that last 15 yesterday. I was fuming walking back to the car but today I have a fresh outlook.
This season is a reset. Less stress for me just go to the games and not knowing what we are going to do is kind of fun in a perverse way.

Totally agree.

We should look back at our past fondly but not keep referring to it and living in it.

That's why we are in the mess we are in!!

The recruitment team has not looked forward one bit. They have been stealing a wage, living on the past performances of the likes of Walker, Gundo, KDB, Bernie etc...

Everyone could see that the decline was gonna come at some point with this squad. They've done very little to address that!

Liverpool did it with the likes of Gerrard and Henderson. They now look like they have planned for the future by buying smart over the last few transfers windows.

January will be too late for our season unfortunately.

The only positive to take from this season is hopefully it's a huge wake up call to the money men and the transfer team to never allow this to happen again.

The net spend trophy they are obsessed with has probably cost us a few more important ones!!!
