The issue, if there is one, is KDB/Foden and whether there is enough tracking from them of runners. That's where Nunes' legs come in, and Ajanji on the right of central defence.

Whatever team we put out, we can always say that an individual cannot do something. We cannot replace Nunes with Kovacic - he is out. Gundo and Bernardo have shown that they are not able to deal with athletic runners, so that means a different solution. I would have no problem sitting Nico alongside Nunes and making a more conventional flat line ahead, with just one No.10.

Id like to see Nico and Nunes together aswell tonight. They will bring the athleticism in the middle of the park we badly need. Kevin Grealish and Savinho behind the big man in front of them. Like the sound of that myself.
 
Was near shambles square an hour ago. Very lively atmosphere.

Come 9:45 they’ll be quiet.

No such things as heavy pitches in the PL these days.

I would be knackered but a professional athlete shouldn’t be.

We have defended dreadfully, not controlled the mid-field and missed chance after chance. Can’t see that improving overnight.

And what the hell is wrong with Foden? He has gone from footballer of the year to local park player in 3 months.

I don’t know the answer to the defensive midfield problems. At half time against spurs I mused whether Kev and Jack on would allow us to control the ball better, but wouldn’t solve the problem of our midfield being ran through. Hopefully Pep can come up with an answer

His future is here but we’re going through a tricky period & shouldn’t place such huge responsibility on him at this stage.
