Defending is not the job of one person.
Naturally, he would be aided by Stones, and/or Lewis.
In addition, Grealish/McAtee are able to defend from the front.
The issue, if there is one, is KDB/Foden and whether there is enough tracking from them of runners. That's where Nunes' legs come in, and Ajanji on the right of central defence.
Whatever team we put out, we can always say that an individual cannot do something. We cannot replace Nunes with Kovacic - he is out. Gundo and Bernardo have shown that they are not able to deal with athletic runners, so that means a different solution. I would have no problem sitting Nico alongside Nunes and making a more conventional flat line ahead, with just one No.10.
Id like to see Nico and Nunes together aswell tonight. They will bring the athleticism in the middle of the park we badly need. Kevin Grealish and Savinho behind the big man in front of them. Like the sound of that myself.
