Raphael Honigstein

These three have outed themselves as rabid City haters during the FFP saga. Especially Honigstein who has that arrogant and dismissive German attitude to anything different than what the Germans believe in.

Special mention to David Conn, a Manchester City fan who hates the club more than most United fans.

Sorry if already posted. Noticed on transfer forum that someone is saying MEN reporting City negotiated 21 man squad to only need 5 homegrown. No link attached. This could be the single most significant outcome of the FFP negotiations if true. Club as apparently been asked to keep tight lipped about this. If true then keeping out of public domain might be to prevent others challenging ruling. Anyone else see this article?

would be beautiful if true, 4 spots lost, 3 HG, perfect.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

The HG number is irrelevant. It is club trained that is important. It could easily be 5 HG, of which 4 are club trained. We'd be fucked if this is the case.

City only required to name FIVE homegrown players in Europe

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-city-only-required-name-7149013" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... me-7149013</a>

It had been thought that the Blues would only be able to name 13 foreign stars in their European squad next season but M.E.N Sport understands that is not the case.

City's Champions League hopes next season have been given a boost after Uefa relaxed the terms of their squad restriction.

The Blues will only be able to name a 21-man squad for next season’s competition rather than the usual 25, as part of their punishment for breaches of financial fair play rules.

That led to fears that they would have to meet the strict criteria of including eight home-grown players in the squad.

That would have meant they could only include 13 foreign stars, and with 14 already on their books, and three more expected this summer, it would have left manager Manuel Pellegrini with a major headache.

Uefa have refused to reveal the detail of the make-up of the reduced squad and City say they have been instructed to stay tight-lipped.

But M.E.N. Sport understands that the Blues squeezed a concession out of Uefa and will be allowed 16 ‘free’ players and just five ‘home-grown’.

It explains why City have not made efforts to keep out-of-contract English players Joleon Lescott and Gareth Barry, while Micah Richards, Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair will leave.

not really, as we have 3 more players regardless, we'd have needed 4 club grown whether it be 13 foreigners or 16, if anything it means we can let the HG players off the books and use their wages on a couple of nice foreign players, and blood a few youngsters at the same time.

I see our friend ben rumsby is at it again (read from bottom to top)...

Will Uefa stand firm or back down? Either way, it could get messy. #ffp
Details
Ben Rumsby ‏@ben_rumsby 14m
Being allowed five homegrown players would render 'sporting sanction' almost meaningless as they'd only have to omit one foreign star.

Another potential row brewing over #mcfc FFP squad cut, involving either the club and Uefa or possibly other clubs and Uefa...

Sorry if already posted. Seems City are trying to get the homegrown quota down to 5?
