These may well be the qualifying dates, but it's no use to anyone if the restrictions on the squad remains undecided by UEFA until, say, the 31st August. If the restrictions are known at City, why does no-one in authority come out and disclose it? There is no harm in doing so, but failure to do so only leaves supporters tetchy.

Maybe because the club don't want it known to other clubs,as it may effect transfer negotiations
Did UEFA not request that we make no comment (supposedly)? They don't care how tetchy you get.
they are very tetchy about this thread tho', particularly when it goes into a loop like now

On the assumption that it is 16 foreign players we can field in both CL and Prem league and if we sign Sagna, Fernando and a centre back it mean one of our foreign contingent must be sold to accomodate them all, and that is without signing a foreign back up player to Joe.

Fabregas was different because he would have been classed as a homegrown player. Only players I have seen linked away are Dzeko, Negredo and Kolorov. We could go with three strikers next season but that would start to pull apart a tried and trusted attack. Yaya could leave but without a replacement of sorts for him, very difficult. Looks like the choice we may be faced with given the restrictions and if as widely expected Fabregas joins Chelsea weaken the attack at the expense of defence or only sign two foreign players out of Sagna/Fernando/New Centre Back.

In terms of Homegrown any academy if that is four we can field Hart and Clichy only if we let Milner go
In terms of Homegrown and out of our academy if Richards leaves then we are looking at Boyata as the only player we have over 21.

No-one has to be sold, just means they can't all be named in Chumps squad?

It sure needs to be clarified pdq. How the hell can we prepare a squad for the competition if we don't know who can or can't feature?
Presuming the squad makeup has been negotiated and agreed upon (and other clubs informed?) this is from my earlier post :-

These are the squad submission dates from last season :-

So i'd guess for us it'd be either the 1st or the 8th of September.

should we run our club based on professionally keeping quiet when we need to, or should we change our communications strategy so as to stop supporters getting tetchy? Hmm, tough one that

It isn't City who are the judge and jury. It's UEFA. It is they who have punished us and it is for them to reveal our sentence. As I speculated upon earlier, maybe they are themselves in a quandary and it is they who are causing this affair to drag on, to the detriment of City.

CL only, the PL squad isn't affected by the sanctions.
