This stuff annoys the shit out of me and agree why invite problems for pennies.
Sponsorship around obscure betting companies, crypto and NFTs are highly controversial and often fraught with many problems.
The author Phillipe Auclair is very anti-City when I've heard him on the guardian football weekly. The standard sportswashing, state ownersip, human rights abuses etc etc.
On betting though he's not just singling us out. He's had a series of heavyweight articles about betting in general and dodgy sponsors impacting on many clubs.
Let's not forget those twats from down the East Lancs have had issues as have the rags.
Here's the Lliverpool story:
Liverpool suspend betting partnership pending full investigation
Liverpool only agreed a multi-year deal with 1XBET back in July but have now mutually suspended the agreement pending a full investigationwww.liverpoolecho.co.uk
Spot on. It gives the usual journalists from the usual media outlets the opportunity to continue the false rhetoric of "circumventing FFP" when that's not what's happening here. People lap it up and use it as another stick to beat us with, it's fucking draining but this one is of our own doing sadly.
