How much do you thing city get from a sale of the shirt? Say 20%? that's probably generous. So you spend £10m on shirts. City get £2m.

Okay with everyone getting all arsey with our naming sponsorship, just how many ways is there of getting around it. In theory whats stopping us giving someone unrelated to the club £10M and getting them to spend it on merchandise?

I was speaking to a lad in the pub about it yesterday and thinking of ways to get around it, they won't ever be able to stop ways of beating the system.

I'll be open to spending the 10m!

The FFP is as watertight as a culinder, thats all you need to know or worry about.
There is nothing to stop Gallagher spending £1m in the club shop, there is nothing to stop a company buying a box and setting up a sponsorship deal for £10m a year.
Not only are we ruining football, were ruining the FFP ;-)

Disagree - yes there are some "grey" areas but in my opinion this is deliberate which gives Platini and the tossers some wiggle room so that they can treat clubs deliberately

Yes a club can buy a sponsorship deal and can spend as much as they want but that ownt be the case because most companies wnat to pay the minimum - when a company so obviously pays over and above what is considered a market price they then look at how is that company connect to the club and if it is linked ala our new deal woth our owners there could / will be problems

Its a farce and as clubs find their way around it then these loop holes will be closed providing that they hit clubs like city and not Barca - Rags etc.

Its bollox and this new Ethiad deal is going to be scrutinsed

Who says its above board - you me dont count UEFA do and whilst they are aware of it the aint approved it yet - With Le Arse - Munich - Murderpool and other owners making noises rest assured that UEFA will go through it with a fine tooth comb and last time i checked UEFA are not exactly best pals with the FA - they have been trying for years to get the number of qualifying EPL teams down from 4 to 3 and the PRel League is the fookin eny of all leagues in the world

And the rules were devised to prevent another Man City - they are designed to keep the top clubs noses firmly in the trough - fortunately for us we have time to plan but there is very little possability of another owner like our or Chelski doing what these guys have done

You are very very paranoid, Liverpool cant say much, if they go ahead with a new stadia then that will get a sponsors name for sure, Utd will sell the naming rights for OT within 5 years, Arsenal have already sold out.
There will be more sponsors on board through a wheels within wheels basis, not rocket science.
