FFP

A lot of fans from other clubs are getting excited about ffp being approved and thinking it will lead to our demise.
Why what's been approved ??have all these fans from other clubs like i'm assuming Barcelona,Milan & all the other fans from all the other clubs excited because of this new approved idea that clearly only effects us.
I'm worried.........a tad upset aswell but all the other fans may be wrong so i'll cheer up a bit.

Most fans of opposing club i've spoke to know nothing about the ffp rules,so as far as they are concerned it is to stop city in their tracks, hence they know diddly squat.

It's not just about player power or to prevent clubs from going bust (they don't really give a shite about either).

It's mainly to stop other clubs from breaking the stranglehold that the top 20 or so clubs around the world have on their respective leagues.

Fifa Fair Play.

Sepp Blatter / Michele Platini.

Yeh reight.

Best way to help the club is to add revenue. So if you got the dosh spend it. I have just signed up to the Platinum card and seen my Loyalty points rattle up by over 1000 by adding all the home cup games. Before any one complains that this is not fair on those who cannot afford to pay out look at the benefits to the club. Would the same potential complainers object to City taking Corporate clients money for food and drink they cannot get because they cannot afford it. It all helps the club to get closer to the FFPR.

Yeah I know.

Makes me laugh how your Everton's, Villa's and Newcastle's like how it's gonna stop us, when all it's really done is:

1) Pushed us on to get ourselves sorted in a shorter space of time
2) As long as we get CL football for a couple more years, cemented our place as one of the current elite
3) Stopped them from ever having the ability or capacity to challenge for major honours ever ever every again

We need to become a Charity like MCFC/Overseas Development! You can become a charity as long as you give a % to your charity say 30%! The charity itself keeps the rest!

In theory our owners could donate 100m our charity gets 30m and we keep the rest!

Is this away around the FFP?
No idea just a thought!

Unfortunately no, this would be fall under the ruling that denies a club the ability to receive income from investors who are in some way affiliated with the club.

There is no real threat to City though, because the ruling will allow for up to (I think) £40 million in losses by 2014, providing the interim years show that the club is going in the right direction i.e. lowering it's annual losses.

As has been pointed out by many others, the plans for City are:

- get rid wages being earned by players who aren't part of the immediate future

- gradual increase of youth (i.e. cheaper) players

- steady rationalisation of the wage structure through on the field success

This last point is important and in theory more sustainable because the club can lower their transfer / wage costs by virtue of the fact that players will come to City without the need for huge cash incentives - because by that time we're hopefully among the top 4 teams in the Europe.

It's certainly aimed at stopping clubs like City. The irony is that it might be too late to stop us but would perhaps deter any more rich investors.

Also have a look at annex XI right at the end of the FFPR......basically says that even if you break every rule in the rest of the book... if you can prove you are heading in the right direction then you will probably be alowed a licence.

What other clubs fans need to understand is that investment in property from business around the stadium doesn't count as a cost but the income from it (as long as it's next to the stadium) does...............ring any bells? ;-)
