FFPR-TV Money Disparity

It would be good fun to see the business plans for the old sky 4

Plenty of red ink in there now maybe?

Spanish teams are very unhappy with their current TV deals.

There has been threats of a strike if something is not done to increase the share of TV money.

Barca went against the last proposals iirc because they wanted to keep their own share and essentially wanted someone else to pick up the bill and increase the other teams TV money, but still not to their level.

Barca and Real will have to give in eventually.

It may not be as "fair" as it is here but it will be a start. When is the question, not if imo.

We'll see when their bond issue repayment comes up, i still believe the Glazers will sell within the next 5 years, easily to someone very rich. Legislation kerbing spending would mean a new owner wouldn't need to spend money on transfers for example to compete with us and with their turnover each year and with all debts wiped clean.. An investment on those terms begins to look quite good. Whether they'll remain competitive though for the next 5 years in order to keep that turnover going? Who knows, an investment clearing their debt though is something to worry about especially with such a massive turnover.

I read that if United were to suffer a drop of only 10% in attendances for two seasons they would fail FFPR.

That 10% drop could be by not reaching the later stages of CL in a double whammy.

And if they were to fail to qualify in top 4? Ouchie!

Indeed whoever signed up for those bonds took a massive risk. No champions league football and they could end up a lot worst, administration etc. Those debts are bank debts and they were pretty much a last ditch attempt to raise money in the first place, the risks were made very clear to those who signed up and that risk being their turnover was linked solely to the teams performance, any drop or being denied entry to the CL would really damage not only their means to make money but also increase the chance they'll default on repayments ten-fold. It'll all happen over the coming years, a lot depends on whether they can continue to qualify for CL football and progress in the competition.

Twattini's medaling has already damaged the competition. The qualifying stages are now a crashing bore thanks to him. It is one tedious sequence of matches after the next. Falling attendances and TV viewing figures have followed. The man hasn't got a clue.

Twatini will be in a bind when many of the clubs fail his anti-City rules while the economy goes south in places like Spain and Italy.

This was so clearly targeted toward us it's hilarious.

A superleague is viewed by many as inevitable, it would be nice to be a part of it.

We are almost there now, all they need to do is ensure the last 16 contain the big names, set up the tv money and away they go. Just got to ensure we are part of it.

Would pretty much require a complete revolution within football. To get a UEFA licence you need to comply, for England to compete in Euro 2012 or any similar tournament they need their member clubs to comply fully and if they don't they can easily cast the whole nation aside. To attempt to create our own tournament in protest at rules aimed at encouraging sensible spending is ridiculous. The way we spend now is not sustainable, i'm thankful for the fact we are now in a position to really go places but business wise it cannot continue, the Sheikh is rich but he doesn't want to ply billions into this club without a personal guarantee that he will see a return, the return he demands is Manchester City's global domination, we can't attract any players to achieve this without Champions League football, therefore there is no other way around it, we must do what is needed to fully comply with these rules.

Even our own chairman has said things cannot continue without a massive increase in income. If it was so easy to get around these rules then they'd of thrown them in the toilet but we are complying as a means of increasing our turnover, there is no easy way out when it comes to this. We can try and sue UEFA but at the end of the day they own the global rights to their Champions League, Europa League brands and can determine who is eligible for entry and who isn't as they see fit it has nothing to with restriction of trade or however else you want to coin it, they make the rules, if we don't follow we don't get into their competitions.

Call the FFP what you want, UEFA money making control scheme or an actual fair play ruling, whatever happens this system will come into force it already has and if we don't plan on complying or causing trouble you can kiss goodbye to any form of European football, we will be frozen out.

Being frozen out may well be the outcome if we fail to meet Twatini's FPR.But we managed to increase our turnover by 40% last year without the CL income and some advertising on a MCTV would easily be a way of increasing our turnover and staying within the rules.
There are many ways that fall within the rules oof increasing our turnover that it is not even a problem.
