FFS! Airline rip-off!

Thompson sport doing a one dater for £299 including all transfers and quite usefully the handing out of your ticket on the plane.

Also one nighter for £389.

Seems a lot but for those where cash isn't really an issue then it seems a decent option including not having to take too much time off work.

I did a few of the original Thomas Cook Day Trips, and like you say, the huge advantage is the direct transfers, especially after the game.
I remember the game in Munich when Tevez fell out with Mancini. That night, the plane landed in Manchester before 1am local time.

If I did it, it would be on this to be honest. The thought of going for one day and then having to find the ticket collection point would put me off the alternative one day trip. I don't get enough holidays to use 2/3 days for things like this.

How are all the bargain hunters going to get on if we get to a final? No waiting for dates etc for that. Won't most of you be in Madrid? Is it a case of getting someone at home on to it.

If you can get a cheap deal to Milan then pay it now and enjoy the holiday regardless or fuck it off if you end up not wanting to go!

Getting ahead of ourselves, but I did the San Siro for Milan v Juventus, the weekend before Robbie Fowler's last minute penalty miss against Boro

It’s a bit like the Allianz, fairly close to the airport, but nothing around it. No bars, no restaurants, no cafes etc.
I presume it’s had a lick of paint because it was deteriorating, even in 2005.
Definitely a day trip for me, if we reach the Final

plenty of hotels just outside the centre of Milan, I cant see the prices dropping even after them with the rooms on hold let them go, they know they will sell them on again so no need to drop the price, also beware, if you are thinking of booking in to an airport hotel, think Manchester to Liverpool that's how far the airport is to the centre/ground.. here's hoping we make it

For those preemptively booking for Milan, take advantage of things like booking.com's no prepayment required with free cancellation.

It's a bit of a disaster with it being a bank holiday weekend if we get to the final , normal idea is to fly from another uk city to keep price down but no good because of bank holiday , flights to madrid always expensive and already well over £200, might be one of those occasions when club trip is best bet .

Just in case anyone else fancies jumping the gun on the final in Milan with the consolation of a trip to the CL weekend if City don't get there, Hotels in Bergamo are only £50 to £100. Bergamo is only 1 hour by bus and/or Train to and from Milan, with both running every half an hour. Bergamo Airport is on 15 minutes away from the city centre. Bergamo looks wonderful. Do yourself a favour. Give Milan and the rip off Hotel prices a miss leading up to the final on Saturday and stay in Bergamo. If we get there of course. :-)

Bergamo (Italian: [ˈbɛrɡamo] listen (help·info); Lombard: Bèrghem, listen (help·info)) is a city in Lombardy, Italy. It is situated about 40 km (25 mi) northeast of Milan and 30 km (19 mi) from the lakes Como and Iseo. The foothills of the Bergamo Alps begin immediately north of the town.

Bergamo is the seat of the Province of Bergamo. With a population of around 120,000, Bergamo is the fourth-largest city in Lombardy. The metropolitan area of Bergamo extends beyond the administrative city limits, spanning over a densely urbanized area with slightly less than 500,000 inhabitants.[1]

The Bergamo metropolitan area is itself part of the broader Milan metropolitan area, home to over 8 million people.[2][3][4] As of 2015[update], Bergamo is the second most visited city in Lombardy after Milan.[5]

Bergamo is well connected to several cities in Europe and the Mediterranean through Il Caravaggio International Airport, the third-busiest airport in Italy with 10.5 million passengers in 2015, and the motorway A4 stretching on the axis between Milan, Verona, and Venice.

I think I paid more than £200 for Seville and am looking at perhaps £180 for Malaga next month. It's a fare I'm used to.

I'm flying in and out of Alicante, I'm wondering if the Costa del sol branch are running a coach to the match and back? If anyone knows anything can they pm me please. Thanks

Be careful you have misread the train price
The cheapest price on the high speed train return is 134 pounds
That 32 euro is on a train that takes 9 hours and is only one way
Cheaper to fly from barca to madrid

Just booked the flights to Madrid.

Got on it straightaway. While checking out the price jumped by £100.

This s*** really should be stopped by the EU.

Once the Airlines give you a price before checkout, it should remain at that price.

Happy I got the flights, but the Airlines are talking the piss out of their customers.
I have never had that experience on airlines. Was it Ryanair by any chance?

Certainly on the railways, once you have clicked the buy tickets button you have a set amount of time to complete the transaction and retain the seats booked. They usually warn you saying 'only three tickets left at this price.'
But 'dynamic' pricing is always going happen with airlines, trains and hotels.

I often stayed at the Ibis Budget at New Islington for City evening matches. It was usually £25-£30 but now they have obviously cottoned that they can fill it at much higher prices if City are at home. I tried for a midweek game and was quoted around £75! However I booked for the PSG match within minutes of the date was confirmed and got a room for £26! They were obviously too slow to update their prices. They were quick off the mark for the Real Madrid match unfortunately. It cost me £100 for a (better) room in the City centre.

Wishing to avoid this for the final, if it happens, we booked flights and a hotel from Thursday to Monday in Milan. If City do not make it, we will have a long weekend in Milan. Just the problem of getting tickets now.
