Sorry, when i say 'it' i mean some people don't seem to understand why it's 'robotic' and don't understand what the game is trying to replicate. People talk about it like it's just an error with the animation. That's what i was trying to say.

Ah ok, cool... as you say each to their own. I think animations has always been a weakness with PES, even at it's height in 05.
Well anyway mate, i've caved in and just gone and bought it. Haha. PES11 is only £17 on the PC from Shopto so decided i'd get this aswell, if only to play it on manual.

I'll let you know how i get on.

-- Sat Oct 02, 2010 12:38 pm --

Me.

Bought both Fifa09 and Fifa10 on release date. Holding out this year after playing PES demo.

Fifa's a good game. But it's not for me i don't think. I reckon i could enjoy it on manual, but only until PES comes out next week.

Read some reviews in The Sun and they claimed Fifa was more realistic because PES still robotic. Some people just don't get 'it'. Aha. I love how different players have different reaction times, and i love how the game takes into account transfer of weight, when turning with a player.

Each to their own i guess.

The problem (or one of the problems at least) is that when players don't have the ball they're fucking speed demons.
Konami also aren't the best when it comes to linking animations.
Yeah that's true on both parts. I think there is always a little AI cheating on both games, where supposedly slower but CPU controlled players will catch up with the supposedly faster user controlled players.

Konami's linking animations are generally poor at times. It can make it look a bit stuttery (if that's a word). Fifa's are linked too well if that makes sense, because you don't notice the change in body balance when turning with a player, quite like you do with PES. Because of this, players on Fifa tend to have similar animations for turning, and although individuality is fairly evident, it's not as obvious as it is in PES. So while animations in Fifa are king, the sometimes gloss over some pretty basic flaws. But then again, PES has it's own basic flaws that need fixing.

Anyway, i've caved in and bought it so i'm going to play it now. How different does it play after the update, because i'm not going to download it if it makes the game faster etc...

Come on guys, everyone should play on Legendary because it isn't that hard really and it makes the game a lot more fun.

On professional and World class the AI teams just camp out in their half and only attack with 2 or 3 players, in legendary they go for it and it makes for a more free flowing game.

Played 7 games on manager mode so far, on legendary playing manual.

won 4, drawn 2 and lost 1.

1. Chelsea
2. City
3. Villa
4. Scum

been playing some class counter attacking football.

Ono i was just going to post the exact same thing about Fifa's linking animations being "linked to well". The momentum and movement of players on the ball (especially with their first touch) in PES or when players hit with each other isn't always pretty but feels spot on.

I also found it interesting that my flatmate who isn't a big gamer and not that good with a controller got the hang of Fifa after one game but it took him about ten matches to get comfortable with PES...and he prefers PES now because you feel like you have had to work for every goal.

I think I am also going to cave in and buy Fifa first, just because I want to play with Silva, Tevez and Yaya in proper kits ASAP :)....and it's a very good game in its own right. I just hope the massive strides PES has taken are rewarded with strong sales. It's good if there are two strong developers pushing each other every year.
