How do you apply these transfers on FIFA 11? Is it through manager mode? I only ever play randomers online.

squads - transfers

u can use them in offline unranked matches aswell but be warned half the time you will play barca and the will have ronaldo etc in their aswell

Can't decide if I like it yet or am just bored of Fifa....I was definitely enjoying myself more playing the PES demo so am downloading the 2nd one now.

Is it just me or can Fifa still not do crosses....it's always identical balls into the box and very little movement/momentum from onrushing forwards.

It's going to be a tougher choice than usual this year.

Just downloading this now, I found PES very impressive (apart from the goalkeepers which I hope they'll improve). Could be the return of PES if this slips up even a bit.

I played PES since International Superstar Soccer Pro (its previous incarnation) until 2008 when it was just terrible. I felt that FIFA had earnt its opportunity, so I bought FIFA 09, liked it much more than PES, so bought FIFA 10 too. Then it got boring, I started to win the treble every season and the AI opponent was just not good enough, for a guy like me who plays offline a lot, that's a bad thing. So for a new challenge I switched back to PES for 2011, it was a decent game but still not great, had a few things I didn't like and overall wasn't as fluid as FIFA but it was certainly a lot harder.

So this year I'm literally open to either game, for the first time ever I have pretty much zero loyalty (though in my heart I always hope PES comes out on top, it's the loveable underdog).

I'm playing both today, and shall make a decision on which to pre-order.

I'm getting PES.

They've made defending way too easy. I just played 3 games against Arsenal and Barcelona and didn't concede a single goal. When you can do that on the hardest difficulty, against the best team in the world, it's a good indication that I shouldn't even bother buying the game. All you do is stand off, Iniesta looks very impressive doing all his fancy dribbling, but eventually he'll just run straight into you or pass it sideways and the process repeats.

As a comparison, the first game on PES 2012 was me with Napoli against AC Milan and I lost 5-0. I was chasing shadows all match, which is how it should be when I'm trying to get used to the game. What's the point in buying something and mastering it straight away?

Decided to download it today, only took just over 2 hours which surprised me.

it's very good indeed, although the tactical defending thing is bobbins! so i turned that off!

played 5, won 5 on world class and haven't conceeded yet!

tis ALRITE..

a touch better than fifa 11...

defending is a bit dodgy.. sliding all over the place.. and keep kicking thin air..

dzeko is a monster..!!!

going to try PES later

ROYALTY18

add me on PS3!

Let me preface this by saying that I have only played the demo for one day.

I have to say, I hated it at first, mostly because of the defending (so hard to get at the ball!), but as you get used to it, it kind of grows on you... it seems much more realistic all around. I love the standing tackle option and how the button that was the "magnet" button last year now just keeps you tracking a player from whatever distance you can get to on your own. if you use that to keep inching closer and closer, you really do have a wealth of options once you get up close to the player on the ball: slide tackle, standing tackle, and the push/grab (really starting to like this).

Defending is realistic, but harder. This of course means that, to those who watch a lot of football, the gameplay is pleasing to a certain extent, but also that I AM GOING TO GET BLOODY DESTROYED ONLINE EVEN MORE THAN USUAL because offensive players definitely get more time and space on the ball, and it seems as though the middle of the pitch is once again open for business, as it is much easier to slip tackles, throw on the brakes, change speeds, and precision dribble around people. Also as others have mentioned, easier to muscle through tackles (esp. w/Dzeko). In FIFA11 it seemed that any passes to an open man in center areas would immediately get swallowed up by a defender who would zoom straight to the ball and pick your pocket. FIFA12 seems committed to allowing for more offensive creativity. I for one had a tough time offensively in 11, so I am loving the flow and possibilities of 12 from an offensive standpoint. Fun to play offense, kind of scary to play defense, but fun for the challenge.

It also seems that AI is better, and some of the runs that teammates take are much smarter and more realistic/helpful. It seemed like I had better communication with my teammates (an artificial thing I know, but it seemed thus). Also, it might be my imagination, but shooting seems a touch more accurate.

The graphics keep getting steadily better, and I like the actual photo headshots of the players when it shows the match ratings/etc.

A couple of issues:

- The "call a teammate to help" button is awkwardly placed and hard to integrate. hopefully this will improve with time.

- I have yet to try the "man marking" option on the set up screen where you can actually (it would seem) have a certain defender shadow an opposing player for the duration of the game, but I am excited to get into trying that. Anyone have any feedback on this? I can't wait to sick NDJ on Shrek like a ravenous dog when the full version drops.

- Not sold on the new commentator yet at all. He is hard to hear, kinda blah, and while I am glad to not be getting any more "If YER Doint HIt Ther TARGeit Yer Nevahguna Scoure!" rebukes, I can't see that this is much better, though I hope the actual version will step it up a notch.

- I know this will be fixed in a few days when the full version drops, but for christsake, we couldn't get Nasri onto City for the Demo? Come on.

Overall, I love FIFA, and I'd try my best to wrap my head around whatever new features they added no matter what, because in my experience it's always led to a very enjoyable gaming experience. I just can't do the PES thing, no disrespect to those of you that love it.

Finally, anyone else get the feeling that we are going to see some absolute drubbings online moreso than with 11 because of the lack of the "magnet" and the more open play? I'm gonna be a bit scared to venture off of single player myself...

Because you're using the easy defending.

I hope they take out 'legacy defending' in the full game.

^^decent post green pennies. When I (eventually) purchase the full game, I'll add you, you sound like my type of player.

Hopefully i can be one of the players people fear to play. Fifa 11 i was very solid at the back but then always took my chances upfront which led me to have around 72 wins, 0 draws and 4-5 losses online. Hope i can keep it solid on this one too. Although. the fact you can change the controls for defending back to fifa 11 is a bit of a blow.

I'm not doubting you, but those are the most absurd(ly good) stats I have ever heard of. WTF level are you? I feel like you should charge for lessons. Teach me, Sensei. I must be missing something because I play a lot and can't get past level 13. Perhaps "a lot" to me is different than for others, that's all I can think of, because having a wife means I'm not playing as much as I'd like to. People are either playing for five-six hours a day seven days a week (which I simply can't keep up with) or I am just completely approaching the game wrong.

It's attacking that I have a problem on fifa 12. Think I've played 3 games now and had a grand total of one shot. If I'm in possession past the half way line I get nose bleeds.

when i had tactical defending off, i found it harder to defend actually.

i kept getting turned all the time and getting caught out of position.

yeah that's what tactical defending stops, but it's impossible to get the ball back when it's turned on.

you can put your men out of position on legacy, you can't on tactical.

if anything legacy is just as hard, plus all that aside i'm just dynamite going forward aswell.

Winning the ball is fuckin shit, everytime I apply pressure my defenders just do that fuckin stupid containing shite JUST TAKE THE FUCKIN BALL OFF HIM!!!

That "call a team mate" button is fuckin daft why change it? Keep it to square like the others....

Other them 2 things that piss me off it seems pretty good love City's ground being on it also pissed on 3 Barca defender and scored a belter with Silva
