FIFA Club World Cup 2025 | Day 7, 8 & 9 | 20/21/22 June '25

Those Uruwa supporters are going to be knackered by halftime.
Especially now they have scored.

Gotta say, people can criticise this tournament for a whole manner of reasons, but it has been a way of showcasing how brilliant football's fans are from around the world - it's been great seeing how people from different cultures support their teams.

Try telling those Urawa fans behind the goal this isn't a real tournament.

Just looked into it and apparently the premium stream is not even 4K. It's 1080p with HDR... HDR is a nice to have (basically better lighting contrast between light and dark areas) but not light and day like going from 1080p to 4K.

I guess the free one is 720p then.
Looks like 1080p to me

According to the BBC - Inter are at 87% possession.

They do really need to win here or they'll go into the final game with River Plate probably needing a win (and maybe also having to hope other results go their way).

To be honest the free DAZN stream is pretty close to 5 HD anyway though so either is good for me. It's probably a bit too good if they want you to upgrade.

Free DAZN stream is 30 frames per second while the 5 broadcast is 50fps.

See the highlights on the YT channel. 480p quality is encoded at 30fps compared to the 1080p/60fps setting (note - quality setting doesn't change straight away on screen if it's built up a cache of the stream)

Nice to see this level of tech nerdiness on here.

Sat watching Inter vs Urawa Red Diamonds and started wondering why the Japanese side have got Arabic numbers on their backs instead of Japanese(Chinese) numerals (?)

Surely they don't use those numerals normally (?)

We also beat Urawa comfortably 3-0 with a mixed team 18 months ago when they had just won the AFC Championship. Right now they are 5th in the J-League.

We were mid-season, while they'd just completed their league. This time round they're mid-season, while Inter have a full season behind them.

Obviously just one factor, but, along with the heat helping many of the non-European clubs, playing at their peak while the Europeans are tired, is definitely helping. It also makes the one sided nature of the December Club World Cups look a little less impressive.

PSG have ruined Inter. Their heads have properly gone.

They were shot before the PSG game.

They dropped silly points in a 2-2 draw on the penultimate league game of the season against Lazio at home which cost them the title race to a Napoli team that without Antonio Conte would have not won the league. They arguably wouldn't have been top 3. Napoli lost Osimhen last summer and also sold their best player, Kvara in January.

Inter also lost to a very average AC Milan team in the Copa Italia semi final around the same time.

Then, a couple of days before the CL final, Inzaghi was heavily rumoured to be moving to Saudi, which he eventually did.

What they have gone through is one of the biggest fall offs/collapses/catastrophes in football history in recent memory.

They went a step further than any Arsenal or Spurs team could ever do.

No doubt there are lots of factors at play. The beauty of football is you're never going to find a scenario where we normalise for everything.

Whatever time of year, and in whatever weather, it's going to favour somebody. Which is why the next one should be in Reykjavik in January :)

Inter = City

Diamonds = Palace

Any team that just parks the bus deserves nothing…they are the ones killing entertainment but we get the blame.
