FIFA Women's WC France 2019

The commentators over here were saying how great it is that Lyon have put so much money into their women's team (to buy the best players and pay the highest salaries, presumably) so that they now dominate the women's game in Europe. It's nice that the media are so consistent in how they view this type of investment in a team...
Did they point out that English teams can't match Lyon's salaries because of our own governing bodies stupidity ?

Not sure you can say that about Norway to be fair, credit our girls they largely played very well, in a good game. They might still be a little over hyped, but they're in the last four deservedly.
Fair point Norway aren't crap but below us in the rankings.

The ones who fucked off to Lyon are getting more accolades than those who've stayed in Beswick!!
I also find it funny how they know about all the players leaving us ,ie Nikita Parris , Abbie McManus, Jen Beattie and Claire Emslie, yet don't seem to know that Ellen White as signed for us , not once have I heard it mention in any of the commentary !

In one case, praising oney for developping the game. In another case, blaming money for ruining the game.

Women Football is just another example that at the higher level money is needed and a pretty important factor to win trophies.
Lyon puts enormous money in their feminine squad and even takes away the best PSG players and trusts all the competitions. Ligue 1 is seen as an exciting proposition because of the money paid for the women. Quite a reversal from the men football.
