FIFA Women's WC France 2019

To rule that goal out, like the Sergio Spurs goal, for being millimetres offside is ridiculous Scream at me that offside is factually and I won’t disagree. When the founders of the game wrote the offside law it was pure and simple to stop “goal hanging”
VAR will rule out so many goals and wonderful moments with the way it is being used. I would also query technically the way that the lines are drawn on the screen and how it is determined when the ball was played. There has to be a benefit of doubt given and at the moment there isn’t

No offence but how do you know? No body does. VAR is only 90-95% accurate and only takes into account feet so it's a farce for decisions that close. Utterly ruining the game and people, not you, who argue "get used to it it's offside if it's a mm" need to stop talking bollox and understand the technology. I hate the thing. There used to be a rule to give the attacking side the benefit to promote attacking play. That's that fucked then!!!!! I fuckin hate it

Was just saying same thing about benefit of doubt. With a decision as close as that, the deciding factor is the point they choose to freeze the shot. The time difference between starting the pass and the ball actually leaving the foot is probably enough for a different result.

Yep ...& the game we know & loved is finished

I completely agree. I hate VAR but don't mind it for offside s. the off side rule itself is the problem. That was level in every way. The rule should be daylight other than arms between players to give the attacker the advantage.
