FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

What a difference getting rid of perennial football fuckwit Phil Neville has made for the Lionesses! He was fucking bobbins.
If they win the WC he’ll be trotting out “When I was manager of the Women’s team” anecdotes like he’s done recently with his cameo impersonating a football manager at Valencia.

I’ve always said international football was shit tbh.

Are City women more entertaining to watch out of interest?

More frustrating if anything, they're hindered by not having an actual football manager and having Gareth Taylor sat there instead.

They play very slowly and for years have played a pretty rigid 4-1-2-2-1 kind of formation. Means the various number 10s (Fowler, Castellanos, Lavelle) we have or have had don't get to play in their best position.

Got a lot of good players though, so generally do fairly well.

One of the problems that Australia have is one we dealt with when Kev first came to us: most of the other players on the team just aren’t on the same wave length and so her brilliance is largely wasted.

Having Rachel Daly's heading ability at left back has been very useful at the back post in this game.
