FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

Hampton was interviewed at the Hundred cricket yesterday - she said Chelsea presented her with a long term plan for her development. I was surprised how short she is, unless the woman interviewing her was really tall.
I can defo see a situation where Berger slowly hands over to Hampton. I think Berger is q happy in London and they've supported her during her cancer treatment (as they should). Plus she's in a relationship with Jess Carter. Maybe she steps back over time and takes on a coaching role.

She's 5'8", officially, could be a bit shorter in real life. I can't comment on her interviewer's height.

Yeah at 5'8 if she's not got her positioning quite right she can't rely on her height/agility to get her out of trouble in the way other goalies might and it never looks great on replay, but she had a superb tournament again. Generally speaking, quite a few of the goalies had good tournaments. Honorable mentions to Australia's Arnold and also Sweden's Musovic (who surely won't want to remain as second choice at Chelsea moving forward)

Everywhere I check now it's says she's 5'8 but I'm sure before the Euros when I checked it said she was 5'4.

Not suggesting she's grown. More chance of a PR exercise if anything.

Personally thought the Japanese keeper was the best at the world cup, she pulled off some great saves and I don't remember her being at fault for anything.

Hard to tell on TV but she looked much shorter than the other two women interviewing her (no where near 5’ 8, you’d expect a keeper to be tall. Maybe she is and Sky are employing ex basketball players….

The way things have panned out for the Spain team both during and since their WC campaign has been a joke. So much respect to the players who've stood up to this mess. I hope some of the men's team follow Iglesias' example and demand change too.

The fact that this was not deemed an immediately sackable offense for Rubiales is a sad indictment of how the Spanish women's team have been treated for a while. They're probably not the only ones either. His press conference was a joke too with even the manager nodding along to his not resigning comments. It's really sad that Hermoso has felt the need to have to come out and publicly state how it made her feel and it really shouldn't have got to this stage without anything being done.

Spanish FA taking legal action.

The only way all this stuff changes is from the absolute top, which means having a female head of FIFA. Considering what the previous male bosses have been like, I'm not sure it would be any worse.

They should also refuse to play their own matches in solidarity. How can you proudly represent your official sporting body on the world stage when you've got a letch at the helm?
