FIFA World Cup Corruption Fiasco

Les Murray just dropped a bucket of shit on FIFA. Said he reported a demand for $5m made by a FIFA Executive Committee member to the Australian bid team. But no mention of it in this report.

It's pretty blatant - apparently they didn't even see fit to investigate something which is a rather serious allegation.
I wonder why they are not so keen to go down the route of uncovering and dealing with corruption! ( no I don't )

Sky ticker "FIFA compliance chairman to examine Michael Garcia's report in full". Wonder how he got that gig?
"Only four officials have seen the report until now", according to sky news.
Last stop for Transparency International it is then.

Defended FIFA abit today only because i think Qatar is a good venue for 2022 as i've been there and enjoyed my time there. Whether FIFA is corrupt or not... Open to whatever i doubt we'll ever find out. It's interesting to read this website though!

<a class="postlink" href="http://transparencyinsport.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://transparencyinsport.org/</a>

Qatar is half the size of Wales, has half the population of Wales and is too hot to play football. Whether there was corruption or not during the selection process and whether you had a nice time there or not, it isn't a suitable place to be hosting the World Cup.

they are now letting anyone read the full document....As long as you sign a disclaimer not divulging information about what you have read.

FIFA really are arrogant enough to think they are above the law.

FIFA will keep blocking access, denying claims and sit tight hoping it will all blow over. The longer it goes on the more I can see this happening.

It might well be on the full report they don't want us to see.

whether it all comes out or not i think the harm is done. whereas people were sceptical before they now know fifa is bent, something the everyday fan has known for years.

no bidding process will ever be the same again. it wont stop the bent qataries getting the world cup but i can't see it happening again.

football in a non footballing country with pitches in a desert is fucking laughable.

Just when you think they are a joke of an organisation and cant get any more crazy:
Real Madrid and Spain keeper Iker Casillas has been shortlisted for Fifa's 2014 World XI despite a poor World Cup and only 12 league games.
