Films people think are 'cool' to like (which are a bit poo)

I didn't really like Inception or Shutter Island, thought were trying to be too clever and just ended up confusing.
Thank fuck for that; I thought it was just me. Trying hard to think of a Di Caprio film that I really like, and am struggling. Gangs of New York is okay-ish...I suppose.

Withnail and I. Unpopular nomination I'm sure, but I've honestly never got the appeal of it. And, unlike the OP, I ain't fishing!!

Good call, sir.

The Road was bob as well.

Eraserhead

Yes, glad you mentioned it twice.

This is the biggest pile of pretentious crap ever, when you look at the title thread this film sums it up best. In fact anything by David Lynch or Kubrick.

Six pages and no-ones mentioned The Matrix?

Now theres a few hours of my life I'll never ever get back.

possibly the biggest pile of shite i've ever had the misfortune of sitting through. people getting excited over the ability of the producer to put keanu reeves on slow motion and pause while a bullet flies past.
an ex of mine phoned one rainy day in '99 to say why don't we stay in, watch a film and go to bed afterwards. she brought the bastard matrix. i sat through it and didn't talk to her for about an hour afterwards. i would rather drive 6 inch rusty nails through my ball sack than sit through this again.

Haha! Amen Blue Brother.

When it came out a few of my mates went bananas about it, wouldn't shut up about it- "amazing", "best film ever", etc.

So I rented it out, admittedly with a critical eye. Watched it then took it back straight after. (Blockbusters wouldn't give me a refund).

When I saw my mates a couple of days later, I told them it was the biggest pile of wank I'd ever witnessed.

They went mad, so I asked them to explain it to me, why they liked it so much. Blanked faced because they didn't have a clue, all they could muster between them was "err, it's got some amazing stunts in it".

Barry Norman's they were not!!

Anything with the words Mad Max, Alien, Predator, Rocky, Star Wars, or Jaws in the title. Anything with Keaneau Reeves, Sandra Bollocks, Renee Zelwigger or Hugh Grant in it. Oh yeah, The Village (not that anyone thinks it's cool).
