Films that are considered cult classics

Used Cars. Bob Gale and Robert Zemekis set the stage for Back To The Future with this wacko film. As funny as it is druggy.

The TV series refered to earlier was called "Moviedrome", in the early 1990s, presented by Alex Cox. You can find details on the BBC genome project website.

However, some of the films on here are just favourites and not "cult", which implies a small dedicated (and oddball) group who like them. My cult fave is Aguirre, the Wrath of God. (Not Aguero )
 
Catch 22 (the book was much better)

Edit: This ties in with the Theatre Royal thread as this was where I first saw the film. My then girlfriend worked in the box office there and I used to get in for free

I think Jim Jarmusch's Night On Earth was one of the films featured by Cox. Well worth seeing.
